Infact, they played Man Down a few hours ago on BBC Radio 1Xtra. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00wyf55#p00d3fsd

That's the second time they've played Man Down on 1Xtra, and they still haven't played S&M yet. The presenters might just really like the song, and be playing it for no reason, or perhaps they know something we don't know...

They'd be incredibly stupid to go with Man Down of all songs over S&M for the second single ...

Just heard Man Down and it's actually really good! I'm surprised! Nice music! It should do really good with a good video clip somewhere in Barbados!

S&M is like Disturbia part 2!

I still think it will be S&M to be honest, although it is difficult to explain why Man Down is getting more airplay at the moment... But Raining Men is getting the most airplay in the US. I think S&M, because, as you said, I don't think they'd be that stupid. S&M has charted top 20 in a couple of other countries already. I think this says it all really:

S&M - #41

Fading - #179 - Getting airplay

Cheers - #199 - Being considered for a single according to Rihanna

California Kind Bed - #209

Man Down - #210 - Getting airplay

Raining Men - #258 - Getting airplay in the US

Complicated - #290

Clearly S&M is the obvious choice, and I think that's what it'll be in the end.

This happened with the last album too. Hard and Rude Boy both got sent to radio at the same time, which resulted in both climbing into the top 40 at almost the same time, and even after they finally decided once and for all Rude Boy was the 2nd single, some stations still kept playing Hard, so much that when Hard was actually released, it flopped big time. :(

[31] 31| Jason Derulo - Whatcha Say (also #190)

[32] 32| Rihanna feat. Jeezy - Hard

[35] 33| Cheryl Cole feat. will.i.am - 3 Words

[37] 34| Alicia Keys - Doesn't Mean Anything (also #273, #274)

[33] 35| Florence + The Machine - Dog Days Are Over

[39] 36| Lil Wayne & Eminem - Drop The World

[40] 37| Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling (also #278)

[41] 38| Rihanna - Rude Boy

[34] 39| Glee Cast - Bust Your Windows

[??] 40| Lostprophets - Where We Belong (also #231)

Hardly any songs need a rapper.

Btw, the single version with B.o.B had its radio premiere on New Year's Day, on the Big Top 40 Show. I'm judging by your post that you haven't heard it yet. :D

It's a beautiful song. It reminds me of Where is the Love? by the Black Eyed Peas, which is most certainly not a bad thing. I can see it getting to #1 tbh.

No I hadn't heard it, thanks for posting it. I actually quite like B.o.B's rapping in it, so I'm glad it's not spoilt. I'm so happy for Jessie! 'Do It Like a Dude' is Top 10 on iTunes, and everyone is loving 'Price Tag'. I hope it's a massive hit for her.

Eurgh... I'm not convinced on Price Tag, Should we not make a topic in the pop forum instead of speaking on Itunes Forum. It's like a natasha bendfield song and black eyed peas where is the love.

That wasn't the reason! It was because it was like the 4th or 5th single and the singles were starting to underperform by that point anyway.

Jessie J finally cracked top 10, i'm not to keen on the song, but well done to her. I can see her climbing quite well now and sticking around.

Hopefully Invincible climbs officially this week too, #13 & 44 (#15 officially on Sunday).

Kylie back in there at #74 with better than today, not that im complaining but i wonder what this climb about???

hard flopped (though it has probably sold 100k) because the video was released alongside rude boy, rude boy was picked as the next single and sent to radio. by the time they released hard the video had been out months, it was not promoted and rihanna had already started recording loud. it was only released as the video was already made and it would keep the album trickle selling over the few months between then and only girl impacting.

had hard been chosen instead of rude boy as the 2nd single (like in america) it would have probably gone top 10 at least (like in america).

hard flopped (though it has probably sold 100k)

Hard did NOT sell 100k! I doubt she sold over 30k! She peaked at 41.

it's top 75 chart run was 55-{42}-43-53-65-59-64R(26)->7

im pretty sure it charted a good few weeks between 75-200 to for those 26 weeks between it leaving the top 75 and then recharting. it never had a 'peak' sales week because everything was so staggered and its release so messed up. i would bet it has easily sold over 75k, 100k my guess.

Given how they're stacking up behind Matt now, I expect him to soon be swept away...

 Rihanna "S&M" now top 40!!! Jessie J top 10!!! Love both these songs
