Always knew who Dusty was but over the past few weeks, i managed to get hold of her back catalogue and finally listen to her. I am absolutley in love with her. What an amazing singer. She really paved the way for almost every british soul singer today.

Any fans here.

Yeah she was an amazing singer, and a huge influence to almost every modern singer and Im not talking about the "Cheryl Cole's!!!!"
She had a fantastic voice. As a child I rather dismissed her as being more for my parents' generation but I'm over that now. Unlike some singers I could mention she didn't need to rely on fancy production to make her records even vaguely listenable.

One of the greatest female vocalists of all-time, really.... such a shame she died so young - she led quite a colourful life, too....

I really like her. The Look of Love is my fave.

I have one of her compilations and Dusty in Memphis.

12 Years today we lost one of the UK's finest female voices.

RIP Dusty Springfield.

Has it really been 12 years? A very sad loss for the music world. I'm sure she'd still be sounding great if she was alive today. She always gets a huge round of applause at PSB gigs when they do What Have I Done To Deserve This with her on film.

It's good, but my favourite song is I'll Try Anything, and for some reason I never LOVED Dusty In Memphis, I prefer Dusty Definitely. And of course Reputation  Excellent, excellent singer, a true artist. RIP :snif:

Hard to believe it's been 12 years. She was an amazing singer
There's an excellent article on her in this month's Mojo magazine, documenting the recording of Dusty in Memphis - very interesting and revealing..... RIP - one of the world's greatest ever singers - has anyone seen her last TV appearance? On Jools Holland - with Alison Moyet and Sinead O'Connor on backing vocals - quite a line-up......

Going through her discography again. I have to admit, after Dusty In Memphis, her music went downhill (i don't mean $h!t downhill, i mean no classic memorable songs that went alongside the likes of Son of a preacher man, The look of love etc) but her voice continued to amaze.
