December 29, 201014 yr Awesome to see Tinie at #31! :D Should be higher, but that's still pretty good.
December 30, 201014 yr Author we're at two pages :o :o :P anyway, heres the last ten before the top 20: 21. Jason DeRülo · 'Ridin' Solo' [3-3-3-3-5-7-x] [ 119 Points ] 22. Ellie Goulding · 'Your Song' [3-3-5-3-3] [ 118 Points ] 23. Cee-Lo Green · 'F*** You' [2-3-2-2-4-6] [ 115 Points ] 24. Alicia Keys · 'Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart' [1-2-x] [ 111 Points ] 25. Edward Maya Feat. Vika Jigulina · 'Stereo Love' [2-2-2-x] [ 94 Points ] 26. Cheryl Cole · 'Parachute' [5-4-4-5-3-3-x] [ 88 Points ] 27. David Guetta & Chris Wills Feat. Fergie & LMFAO · 'Gettin' Over You' [2-3-6-6-x] [ 87 Points ] 28. Selena Gomez & The Scene · 'Naturally' [3-3-x] [ 80 Points ] 29. Eliza Doolittle · 'Pack Up' [3-4-3-2-3-2-x] [ 80 Points ] 30. Kylie Minogue · 'All The Lovers' [2-3-6-5-x] [ 74 Points ] Kylie Minogue's thirty first top 10 hit and her first time in the top 3 since 2004, it was her 44th top 40 hit , whch puts her thirteenth in the overal most artists with top 40 hits Eliza Doolittle's quirky but definitive summer anthem of 2010 which sampled a World War 2 song, a rarity for a song to sample something before the charts were invented- there are probably others, but they don't spring to mind currently- if anyone knows, that would be great Star of The Wizards of Waverly Place, Selena Gomez's first and only top 10 hit- in getting this song in to the top 10, she actually outpeaked Miley Cyrus who has infamously stalled at 11 on no less than three occasions, however, Selena, so far, remains a one hit wonder David Guetta's third number 1 that was actually the fifth single he released off his album - considering Memories peaked outside the top 10 this could be seen as surprising, nonetheless, it is the third time he has had Chris Willis on vocals, and the first time hes got to number 1 with this- it would also be Fergie's first ever number 1 outside of the BEPs, the highest her solo material reached was number 2, also the second top 10 hit and first number 1 for rap group LMFAO, so yeah, everyone was a winner in this case really Cheryl Cole's final appearance on the chart with her third single from her debut solo album and third straight top 5 hit, clearly her influence on the reshuffle chart hasn't been as apparent this year as last year when she was top 10, her latest lead single release crashed outside of the top 50- maybe the overexposure is finally coming into play Romanian musician Edward Maya's dance anthem of the summer, it also featured Russian singer Vika Jigulina on vocals- it was a European smash which unlike some ill-fortuned European dance songs this year, managed to be a big top 5 hit there too Alicia Keys' fifth top 10 hit, following up Empire State of Mind, which got a bit boring and lost a lot of its points and languished outside the top 30, this on the other hand shined with BJ members and gets top 30 after just two weeks Cee-Lo Green's first solo release and deserved first solo number 1 which beat to the surprise of many, Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow's duet - he is no stranger to number 1s, Crazy with Gnarls Barkley holds the second longest running number 1 of the 2000s, beaten the next year by Umbrella, it stayed there for nine weeks- his song was the first number 1 since 2004 to use an expletive in the title, although unlike Eamon and Frankee's offerings, there was a radio edit for this one and finally Jason Derulo's third single release and third straight top 3 hit and the peak of what was a very good year for him, it became his highest selling song, more than his number 1 In My Head, which is lower down - it peaked at number 2 in May, giving his first three songs the odd pattern of going 3-1-2, an urban song doing this well on Buzzjack is pretty surprising, so he's done well in that area too
December 30, 201014 yr Author so the top 20 are in alphabetical order: 3OH!3 feat. Katy Perry- Starstrukk B.o.B feat. Bruno Mars- Nothin' On You B.o.B feat. Hayley Williams- Airplanes Diana Vickers- Once Ellie Goulding- Starry Eyed Eminem feat. Rihanna- Love The Way You Lie Lady Gaga- Alejandro Lady Gaga- Bad Romance Lady Gaga feat. Beyonce- Telephone Katy Perry- Firework Katy Perry- Teenage Dream Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg- California Gurls Kelis- Acapella Owl City- Fireflies Rihanna- Only Girl (In The World) Rihanna- Rude Boy Rihanna feat. Drake- What's My Name Swedish House Maffia feat. Tinie Tempah- Miami 2 Ibiza Taio Cruz- Dynamite Timbaland feat. Katy Perry- If We Ever Meet Again I would like some predictions of the top 5 before this starts at least so I know there is SOME anticipation- I will be looking at these in detailm, giving a youtube clip plus a commentary at the bottom but three-five predictions first please! Edited December 30, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 30, 201014 yr In no order I think the top 5 will consist of California Gurls, Firework, Telephone, Bad Romance and Only Girl (In The World) Maybe Love The Way You Lie but I think that might have died down towards the end of its top 10 run Good to see as many as four 100% male songs in the top 20, more than I expected from BuzzJack. WITS might have got in too if it had a slightly longer top 10 run
December 30, 201014 yr I think top 5 may be Only Girl, Firework, Bad Romance, Telephone and maybe LTWYL. Glad to see Diana top 20, hopefully she can get top 5!! :cheer:
December 30, 201014 yr Author well, nice to see a third member commenting :D but I may as well start now: lets get this going: 20. Swedish House Mafia Vs. Tinie Tempah · 'Miami 2 Ibiza' [1-1-1] [ 119 Points ] LCH1AsUydSc so starting off we have what is quite a surprise- a male rapper on a dance track with some sexual talk going on- nonetheless, unlike One which languished lower down the chart, there second song which featured Tinie Tempah and also their highest charting hit clearly struck a chord with BJers and spent three weeks on top of the chart, an energetic song that just screams 'summer anthem' the odd thing was it wasn't actually released until autumn Swedish house Maffia consists of Swedish DJs Axwell ( who had a number 6 hit with I Found You in 2007) Steve Angello (had a number 11 hit in 2009 with his version of Show Me Love) and Sebastian Ingrosse (who had no hits prior to featuring) a former member was Eric Prydz who would have been the only member who had more than one solo hit, this was also Tinie Tempah's fourth straight top 5 hit, released just two weeks after Written In The Stars got there, giving him two songs in the top 5 and a number 1 album at the same time- for a UK rapper, this is a tough feat to achieve Edited December 30, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 30, 201014 yr One is far far better than Miami 2 Ibiza (and a much better video too but that's not really relevant). Disappointing that BJ can't see that.
December 30, 201014 yr Author 19. Rihanna feat. Drake · 'What's My Name' [2-1-1-1] [ 119 Points ] U0CGsw6h60k coming in at 19 is a song that could've been higher had it entered earlier in the year- it still manages an impressive 19th, finishing above SHM due to more 5s received on its highest scoring week (as did SHM with Jason Derulo) Rihanna has had a very big year- she still has two more hits to come, this collaboration with Drake so far remains to be her 6th number 2, although also her 12th top 5 hit, the only other thing I can say about this is something which has been said before but I'll say it anyway- the square root of 69 comes to 8.30, Drake (or something like that, I was never good at maths) Edited December 30, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 30, 201014 yr Author 18. Katy Perry · 'Teenage Dream' [2-2-2-1-4-6] [ 125 Points ] 98WtmW-lfeE at what may be surprising to some, Katy Perry's first of three hits comes in at what could be seen as lowly for her, number 18 - like Rihanna, she still has two hits to come so I will save most of the commentary, I never really connected with this song, it sounded to similar to its predecessor for me, but she nonetheless hit a winning formula this year and the song gave her another huge hit - reaching number 2 in August, beaten to number 1 by Olly Murs' debut release, although the thing that I will remember this song for, is the song that held it from number 1 ON BUZZJACK for three weeks, more on that later Edited December 30, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 30, 201014 yr I predict, in no particular order the top five to include "California Gurls", "Only Girl", "Alejandro", "Love The Way You Lie" and "Rude Boy". "Bad Romance", "Telephone", "Firework", "Airplanes" and "If We Ever Meet Again" will be somewhere 6 to 10 I'll remember "Teenage Dream" for staying at the top of the multichart for 5 LONG WEEKS! An average song at best but 5 weeks at the top? Some songs are so overrated here. Edited December 30, 201014 yr by *xmasG*
December 30, 201014 yr Author 17. Diana Vickers · 'Once' [2-2-3-x] [ 137 Points ] A7K91hm29tA so next up is another X Factor star that BJ like - the quirky singer that you either love or hate, Diana Vickers - I do fall into the former with this one, so I'm glad to see this so high, anyway, since just missing out on a place in the final in the 2008 series of the X Factor, Diana Vickers has certainly took her time, appearing in and winning an award in the musical Little Voice, but this year she started her pop career- and it got off to a good start this song and the album both went in at number 1, unfortunately the marmite nature of her voice means that only a certain audience would get her- and both the single and the album were unfortunately flash in the pans, and plummeted down the charts, Once only spent 5 weeks in the top 40, the second lowest for a number 1 this year Although not as successful as winner Alexandra Burke or runners up JLS, Diana still can boast to have done better than the act who beat her to a place in the final, Eoghan Quigg- whose only career option now would be a couple of months in Butlins, what the future holds for her and if she can win new fans remains to be seen, but she certainly has a devoted fanbase on Buzzjack- she does far better in thic chart getting 17th than her Year end position would represent :P Edited December 30, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 30, 201014 yr Author I'll remember "Teenage Dream" for staying at the top of the multichart for 5 LONG WEEKS! An average song at best but 5 weeks at the top? Some songs are so overrated here. on this chart though, a very nice surprise happened :o anyway 16 coming up Edited December 30, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 30, 201014 yr Author 16. B.o.B Feat. Bruno Mars · 'Nothin' On You' [1-1-4-4-x] [ 146 Points ] 8PTDv_szmL0 so we have the first of two entries now for American rapper B.o.B and indeed the second of four all male songs inside the top 20, his second song is yet to come which features Hayley Williams (any surprises there? ) so only a small commentary needed- this was B.o.B's first ever number 1 following huge success in the states, and indeed the first number 1 Bruno Mars featured on before he went on to do even better than this with his own song, not very original, but nice and likeable song here, that was a pleasant surprise to see top the reshuffle chart for two weeks, Buzzjack don't usually take to rappers, but with B.o.B, something clearly connected
December 30, 201014 yr I'm pleasently suprised at how high diana is on here, considering she only had 3 weeks top 10. :o
December 30, 201014 yr Author 15. 3OH!3 Feat. Katy Perry · 'Starstrukk' · [2-2-2-5-4-3-4-3-5-8-x] · [ 167 Points ] dvf--10EYXw so starting the top 15 off with a long running top 10 hit for US duo 3OH!3 featuring none other than Katy Perry featuring her second of five appearances on a song in the top 20, 3OH!3 didn't get quite the start they hoped for when their first single Don't Trust Me missed the top 20, however get a guest appearance from huge US female star and they've got themselves set for a huge hit- reaching number 3 but spending 10 weeks in the top 10 and one of the biggest songs not to reach number 1 of the year, Katy Perry's feature also pretty much guaranteed Buzzjack's approval- of course, the song was a great pop record which was rightfully a huge hit. interestingly, the boys' re-release of their first hit again stalled them outside the top 20, when their next song which featured Ke$ha was released, it gave them a second top 10 hit- proving sometimes help from friends is all you need, that is something that is apparent in another song still to come Edited December 30, 201014 yr by chart wizard
December 30, 201014 yr Author that will be all for now, I will get 14-11 up before the night is up- then hopefully reveal the top 10 tomorrow and get it done before the new year, which will be a nice wrap-up really nice to see a few more of you commenting, I will continue the countdown in between 8 and 11ish
December 30, 201014 yr I remember M2I being #1 on here one week but didn't realise it was #1 for all 3 weeks :o Shame it dropped out of the top 10 so quickly Tinie Tempah is strange, everyone bar a few (such as me) hated Pass Out when it first came out but by the time Written In The Stars came out most people liked Pass Out. He definitely had built up a much bigger fanbase by the time MSI and WITS were released. Edited December 30, 201014 yr by ★ 2011 Bray ★
December 30, 201014 yr I LOVE What's My Name? and Miami 2 Ibiza. Both incredible tracks which I've really enjoyed listening to. Once is very good too. Starstrukk was awesome at first, but got so overplayed, even when it had left the charts, that I just got fed up of it in the end. :( Nothin' On You I find relatively boring, and ditto for Teenage Dream. Really pleasently surprised at Ridin' Solo getting #21 and Miami 2 Ibiza getting #20. Those two are probably two of my favourite songs of the year, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes these (for a change ). And I think Telephone will win overall (although I hope it doesn't). Airplanes is my favourite of the tracks left. EDIT: Yeah Bray, you've described exactly me! :D I hated Pass Out originally, and I remember desperately wanting Telephone to win in "the chart battle", but if that chart battle were to happen again, I'd be rooting for Pass Out this time. I also thought, after hearing Frisky, that his whole album was going to sound the same as them two songs, but when I heard Written in the Stars, it was a nice surprise. :) Edited December 30, 201014 yr by Eric_Blob
December 30, 201014 yr Author just realised I've forgotten to include McFly and Taio's Shine a Light, it should be 108th, so everything behind it is pushed down a place, luckily it wont affect the top 20
