The Northern Ireland-born singer failed to return to the group in 2012 when they reformed following an extended break. The four remaining members Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding have since released three albums - two of which have topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The widely-rumoured reunion has been on the cards since Coyle was spotted enjoying a meal with Cole in Los Angeles during the summer. Coyle, who has won 17 Grammy Awards during her ten-year solo career, has now postponed plans for a Greatest Hits release to focus on the group's new LP. "I am thrilled to finally confirm my return," the singer said. "It's been a long time coming but both myself and the girls have had an incredible few years, so finding the right time for this was important. "I am so excited about getting back into the recording studio and working with these four girls again. We might be older, but we're still going to have a good time." Asked about her reportedly fraught relationship with Cole, she added: “We’re fine. It’s all fine. Girls Aloud are back." An emotional Cole said: "We always knew this day would come. It never felt right for us without her." The group are expected to begin recording new material later this month, while tour information will be confirmed at a later stage.
