I doubt it and like other people have said, Echo didnt excatly flop, it under performed compared to the massive expectations following her first album.

I honestly feel that Echo was a better album than Spirit.

Oh totally agree!!! Its a fantastic album, much better and more cohesive than Spirit, it was just handled poorly

Yeah, getting Leona to work with some of the best producers in the world after she's released two multi-platinum #1 albums, 3 UK #1 singles, a sell-out arena tour (and let's not forget her being the SOLE representation of what sort of global stars X Factor can produce) is Simon's way of plotting to drop the flop Leona is.

Oh and is this the best point to mention that Simon said Leona is the act he is most proud of producing? Yes that includes the likes of SuBo, Kelly Clarkson, JLS, Alexandra etc.

She's taking far to long to release new music. This will be her undoing.

It hasn't even been two years since the release of her last album and hasn't even been a year since her arena tour.

I agree with this. Promotion wasn't great. Leona has so much potential left - like Diana vickers, who will be dropped after her second album is a flop due to bad promotion:cry:.

Keep positive about Diana!! She has the potential to get a number one smash, let's believe :D

Also, Simon won't drop Leona because Echo still sold 600k and is his ideal 'X Factor' winner. I'm really looking forward to Leona's next album, I'm sure she will do great :D

I seriously don't see how anyone can say a Double Platinum album is a flop. Most artists can't even sell 300,000 copies for their debut albums.. let alone double that for their 2nd
Exactly. I'm getting a bit annoyed at people saying 'Echo' was a flop, when it was far from that. Yes, compared to the monstrous debut 'Spirit', we all knew it'd be impossible to replicate that success. If she had a Duffy-style flop follow up I'd understand, but she didn't. I highly doubt Adele will be able to get another album as big as '19' or '21'. (But then again, '19' only really started taking off 2/3 years later, thanks to XF and peaked in sales thanks to '21''s release)

Echo was a small success but it did flop in several countries

Spirit sold 6 million copies. Echo sold 2 or just under. That's a 4 million loss. I can see why some label it a flop.

I hate this forum sometimes for having such an ODD way of thinking. For an album to sell two million even worldwide is a massive achievement and FAR from a flop. The word 'flop' should not be allowed anywhere near Echo. It did not do as well as Spirit and may have done badly in some countries, but generally it was a successful album (especially in the UK.)

Agreed. Its so ridiculous. I remember people saying Shania Twains Up was a flop cos it didnt sell as much as Come On Over (37 million+).....ehhhh it STILL sold approx 13-14 million worldwide or something crazy like that

There is a massive difference between underperforming and flopping. Commercially there is no way that Echo was a flop. Yes it probably didn't meet expectations but it still sold much better than many other artists. That was on the back of one single too as I Got You didn't have much effect at all.
