No thread for this? Are you mad? :D

She's the greatest female artist like ever. The new album is out February 14. Produced by Flood, John Parish, Mick Harvey & PJ Harvey and it's gonna be all amazing

Great to see this thread. I am so excited for this album. I heard 'Written on the Forehead' and it was so interesting and so brilliant. I read though that the first single is going to be 'The Words That Maketh Murder'.

Here's the tracklisting from Wikipedia:

1. "Let England Shake"

2. "The Last Living Rose"

3. "The Glorious Land"

4. "The Words That Maketh Murder"

5. "All and Everyone"

6. "On Battleship Hill"

7. "England"

8. "In the Dark Places"

9. "Bitter Branches"

10. "Hanging in the Wire"

11. "Written on the Forehead"

12. "The Colour of the Earth"

Really looking forward to this, Written On The Forehead is great and I'm loving the change of direction it suggests she's taken.

Oh this is a little bit special.

Words is an ace tune from one of the greatest female artists this country has produced.

The new single is frankly FABULOUS. Even if it is a little Bird is the Word in places.
Seems like the new album is going to be more folk-orientated. Liking 'The Words That Maketh Murder' and I think it will grow on me even more.

NME gave it 10/10 :o

They don't do that very often. I think Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes debuts and OK Computer were the last few times.

And Eve's 2002 album got 10 too...which is a strange anomaly.

I'm really looking forward to getting this tomorrow. White Chalk was my favourite Peej album to date and I think this one has the potential to better it.
LOVE IT. The most instant Peej album ever for me, the only thing I'm not fond of is the repetitive and slightly out of sync horn battle cry on one of the tracks but I'm willing to let that slide.
It's nearly 20 years since I first saw PJ Harvey :o That makes me feel so old

You and I both...

The Words That Maketh Murder is my favourite thing of hers since Sheela Na Gig I think.

I was surprised it was her when I found out.

Fantastic album. On first listen I liked it overall - three or four outstanding tracks, not that fussed on some others. After more listens, love it.

If you hear it once and aren't that pleased with it, give it time - I can see it being a real grower on people.

Hopefully her second Mercury (and a losing nomination as Best British Female 2012!)
