OH VERY DEAR.

I hate to think my home country (Ireland) is buying that soulless pile of w***. Hmm... Ah well, it's blatently being bought because it's Britney, not because it's any good. The exception of course is Continental Europe, who will lavish the song.

As for me, it's true Britney style = sh!te.

OH VERY DEAR indeed-please delete comment before Tyler sees it.

Meh. Stans don't scare me... neither do their hilariously juvenile idiolects. They end up looking like cocks if you ask me. I expect a rant from him any time soon now, not instigating anything, of course. Some people need to learn there is an opinion that may, on the odd occasion, oppose their own views - not saying they should conform, but hitting down that opinion and preaching your own to the extent it might as well be gospel is poor reasoning, and defeats the object of both arguments and more particularly, this whole forum.

Just because your favorites don't have the same power as Britney, there's no need to be upset about it.

Wow - Brit has some real deticated fans on this! :)

First Listen - Chorus meh. Verses Okay.

Second Listen - Chorus meh. Verse good. Quite cathcy (found myself humming to it on the bus)

Third Listen - LOVE IT!!! Number 1 on Irish Itunes!!

I'm not a usual Britney fan but I'm impressed!! :)

I don't have "favorites" - I like what's melodically catchy, gives the impression a lot of time, soul and conviction went into both vocal delivery and production, and has a meaningful message to convey. The artist is negligible as long as the song is good.

Britney has never ticked all three boxes in my honest opinion - or even come close to just one since 'Everytime'. Now stop forcing your stan-like attitude on people with the balls to speak out against the car crash that 'Hold It Against Me' really is.

This had best go number 1!!!! Her best song ever imo
Germany & the UK are two of the biggest music markets in the world. Whereas radio play is crucial in America (it plays an important role in its influence towards its charts in comparison to the UK), it's able to be released straight away there so I'm guessing? I reckon HIAM will be released in Germany and the UK once she 'promotes' it.

UK must to join this club!

:o And I thought Only Girl's and The Time's world domination was bad! :o

Well, I say "bad", but it was actually "good", but you know what I mean!

As far I know, no one song in digital era didn't slayed 17 countries in less than 2 days, so this must be some kind of record for Britney.

*brain melts*

Hopefully #1. It's a brilliant song from Britney.
So, right, just so I'm clear... Are we getting it later than everyone else because they want to promote it for us first ... video etc.? Because we have a strong music market? I have a feeling of jealousy.

It's the same reason that we get a plethora of other American songs late in the UK.

Infact, even a lot of UK songs we get "later", but they don't seem late, because they're not released in other countries, so we have nothing to compare them to.

But, for example, Once by Diana Vickers got its radio premiere in December 2009, and got released months and months later (I can't remember exactly, was it in April?). Happiness by Alexis Jordan got its radio premiere in June, and got released in November or something. :drama:

Well strategically, it's probably the most sensible thing to do..

Gosh, so much hate in your little speech. I don't even understand why you bother with Britney if what you look for is "soul and vocal delivery"... it's not like you could ever enjoy her music then. You say we have to respect your opinion, fair enough, but you sound like you say we're all brainless c**t for liking this. Huh, where is the respect ?

Anyway, the whole world is at her feet right now

I have no problem with people holding back new releases for new artists. In fact, it's the best thing to do, as they can then build up hype and airplay etc ready for a big staged push to the higher reaches. If they were released straight away, their sales would probably be so spread out they'd struggle to get anywhere, and they'd find it difficult to compete against bigger names with more of a fanbase who would immediately shoot into the top 10.

However, someone like Britney would shoot into the top 3 at LEAST on iTunes straight away, probably drop a bit once the initial hype dies down (but still maintain a top 10 placing due to the top 10 effect and increasing airplay). Then when she comes here to do some promo or the video is released she'd shoot back up, maybe even going up to #1 if the competition is weak/she gets enough of a push (like the Black Eyed Peas did with an X Factor slot)... she really doesn't NEED to be held back, imo. And if she got to #1 on iTunes she could probably stay there with the increasing airplay and the boost that being #1 on iTunes seems to give songs. The worst that could happen is she'd peak maybe in the top 5 instead of #1. Not the end of the world, and her sales would likely be higher anyway due to the extra five or six weeks in the top ten. I just don't understand why record companies seem to be so obsessive with getting to #1 in this country.

The only logic I can see in them being held back in Germany & UK is that, as Josh said, we're the biggest European markets, so they want to "test the waters" so to speak in the rest of Europe before releasing here, to see how it would do. But it's pretty clear at this point the song is absolutely massive, so IMO they should really just release it now.
