Great ratings of 13.3million. Just short of the highest Glee episode to date which is Hell-o on 13.6million.

According to Fox it was the most succesful episode...

Britney Spears' 'Glee' Sets Series Record

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

13.3 million viewers tuned in Tuesday night – up 4 percent from its premiere last week.

ABC's "No Ordinary Family" got off to an impressively strong start Tuesday night while Fox's "Glee" rose in the ratings to a series high thanks to its eagerly anticipated tribute to Britney Spears.

"Glee" drew 13.3 million viewers and a 5.8 preliminary adults 18-49 rating -- dominating the night, rising 4% from its mammoth premiere last week and scoring the pop-drama's biggest rating ever (yes, higher than the show's Madonna-themed episode).

"Glee" led into the second episodes of "Raising Hope" (7.5 million, 3.2), which climbed a tenth of a point, and "Running Wilde" (4.7 million, 2.1), which widened the gap between the comedies, falling 13%.

Here's interesting factoid about "Glee" from the Fox ratings department: "This is the first time in 17 years that the highest-rated entertainment program of premiere week grew in Week 2 among adults 18-49 and total viewers (since Fall '93, 'Seinfeld')."

"No Ordinary Family" (10.5 million, 3.1) is ABC's biggest new series premiere this season and performed well airing against stiff competition from "Glee."

Fox won the night. CBS was next, with the second rounds of "NCIS" (18.7 million, 4.0) and "NCIS: LA" (16.4 million, 3.7) demonstrating the sort of stability that CBS dramas are known for. "NCIS" was flat with last week's debut, while "LA" improved 9%. The second season premiere of "The Good Wife" (12.9 million, 2.5), however, slipped 19% from last year.

ABC ranked third, with "No Ordinary Family" leading into "Dancing With the Stars" results show (3.7), dropping 16%. The second week of "Detroit 1-8-7" (9.2 million, 2.2) was down a tenth.

NBC had "The Biggest Loser" (2.7), down 7%. At 10 p.m., "Parenthood" (4.8 million, 2.0) is on a worrisome trend, falling 20% to a series low.

The CW aired "One Tree Hill" (1.8 million, 0.9), on par with last week, and "Life Unexpected" (1.6 million, 0.8), rising slightly.

Hmm that's strange. I definitely remember Hell-o rating 13.6million.

Preliminary data reveals that the show posted a 5.6 demo rating with 13.6 million viewers

It is definitely higher than the Madonna episode though.

Viewing figures mean $h!t all in the US.

It's all about the 18-49 rating. Britney/Brittany recoreded a 5.8, which is not only massive and very impressive but the highest rated Glee episode yet.

When they sat 'highest rated' that don't mean it had more live views than X that would be highest viewed. The key word is rated

I read on the glee forum that the Hell-O figure included DVR and Tivo tune ins as well, and the Britney episode didn't?

Ah I get it now. I was mixing up viewers with rating. Brittany/Britney had a 5.8 rating and Hell-o had 5.6 so that's why it's the highest rated.

And yeah Tyler covers can chart on the Hot 100. Don't Stop Believin is their highest chart placing to date at #4. :)

US ratings work slightly differently to ours, once you get your head around the differences its like riding a bike ^_^

From Futoncritic:

So what does all this crap mean? Here's a quick guide to understanding these numbers:

"Grey's Anatomy" (15.36 million viewers, #2; adults 18-49: 6.0, #1)

15.36 = "Grey's" total viewers, which indicates 15.36 million viewers in the U.S. watched this broadcast

#2 = "Grey's" total viewers ranking for that night (T denotes a tie)

6.0 = "Grey's" adults 18-49 rating, which indicates 6.0% of all adults 18-49 in the U.S. watched this broadcast

#1 = "Grey's" adults 18-49 ranking for that night (T denotes a tie)

Some other stuff to keep in mind:

· For the 2009-10 season, there are an estimated 292,000,000 people (age 2 and above) in the U.S.

· For the 2009-10 season, there are an estimated 132,000,000 adults between the ages of 18 and 49 in the U.S. so 1% of that equals 1,320,000 people.

· Nielsen Media Research forbids us from displaying ratings in chart form or maintaining regular archives beyond the current week. It sucks, we know.

I think Toxic has a great chance at hitting the top 5 next week!

This episode was a bit messy I thought, wasn't really impressed but it was funny ^_^ Could have been handled better I think.

Edit: Although Santanna was amazing in this episode

Next Britney episode they MUST do:

1.Gimme More

2.Piece Of Me (Britney & Quinn duet plz)

3.Womanizer

4.Circus

5.PREMIERE NEW SINGLE.

Britney should play Quinn's like cousin or something, and have something to do with the 'Cheerios'... have a feud with Sue or something.

Britney was playing awful there to be frank. I hope she won't embarrass herself even more :(

I think they should do -

1. Womanizer

2. Piece Of Me

3. Everytime

4. Overprotected

5. I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman

6. (You Drive Me) Crazy

I think all of the above would work well into a storyline, rather than just being random songs.

Although I would like to hear Gimme More, Break The Ice and Circus too

Ooh is there a second Britney episode confirmed or it's just wishful thinking ?

I really enjoyed the episode, although it was going nowhere

Brittany was IMPRESSIVE in MATM, her dancing was fierce

From what i've read it looks like the superbowl ep will be another Brit ep.

I quite enjoyed this ep, twas very funny

I don't think she was awful. And most of the reviews she has gotten have been really positive.

And she wasn't really acting she was playing herself. She was AWESOME on 'Will & Grace' and 'How I Met Your Mother'.

Thanks for the information Silas! :)

No worries mate! Happy to help ^_^

YES PHIL LET US REMEMBER.

"I clear 165 dollars a week, I moved out of my storage unit, I'm on tv!" LMFAO.

She would be awesome on Glee if she played a character, she always does a great job at that. It's been the same with her videos as well. ala 'Toxic'.

INDEED TYLER LET US REMEMBER!

She gets some fabulous one liners in W&G

I've seen the behind the scenes of Toxic  Twas pure epicness

So it may have been mostly about songs/performances rather than the storyline but I LOVED it . Santana really made me laugh especially with her one liners ''Hey dwarf, anyone ever told you that you dress like the bait on How To Catch A Predator?!''
