January 12, 201115 yr Wow @ JLS/Tinie going straight to B-list. Guess they realised they missed the boat by not adding it next week. Not surprised Britney is straight onto C list; this song is going to have mega sales first week in the UK, especially if it is repressed right through to mid-Feb. Will need to check out the new Alexis track, wonder if its any good. Her last track has grown on me A LOT, its really sexy, and the structure of it lyrically (particularly the method she employs to sing it) reminds me a lot of Leona's Happy, as the "happiness" lyrics gradually build before exploding towards the end.
January 12, 201115 yr Not impressed about the Travie version of Higher being added...but I've vented in the Kylie forum instead of here, god knows Chart Chat has enough loonery already  Interesting to see Christian TV being supported, I loved that song for a while last summer :o
January 12, 201115 yr Chavie McCoy? Sod you Radio 1, sod you! I assumed Christian TV was released months back and bombed, guess not. I liked that song, glad to see it may still become the hit it was supposed to be. This year's Metro Station perhaps?
January 12, 201115 yr * JLS featuring Tinie Tempah - Eyes Wide Shut * Taio Cruz featuring Travie McCoy - Higher * Alexis Jordan - Good Girl * Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me * Kanye West - All Of The Lights * Magnetic Man featuring John Legend - Getting Nowhere * Skream & Example - Shoot Yourself In The Foot Again Really happy about all of these! :w00t: All the other stations I listen to have playlisted the Travie version of Higher too, which I find strange, since I think the single features Kylie. Especially happy about Kanye West! And Skream essentially has two new songs on the playlist this week.
January 12, 201115 yr Author because Travie is cool and hip with the kids and Kylie isn't, I bet that's the judgement behind that decision
January 12, 201115 yr because Travie is cool and hip with the kids and Kylie isn't, I bet that's the judgement behind that decision The follow-up to 'Billionaire' was a complete flop and didn't even make the top 100 though, that's so stupid.
January 12, 201115 yr Does seem odd that Radio 1 is playlisting the Travie McCoy version of "Higher" if Kylie's is tthe one getting the UK release, I did laugh though
January 12, 201115 yr because Travie is cool and hip with the kids and Kylie isn't, I bet that's the judgement behind that decision Maybe, but I haven't heard the Kylie version on any of the many other stations I listen to either. Perhaps they're distributing out the Travie version to all the stations? I did find it weird though, especially with Galaxy FM, because they spent like 2 months hyping up the Taio/Kylie collab (literally everytime they played Better Than Today they mentioned it), and then a few weeks later I suddenly hear the Travie version. Does seem odd that Radio 1 is playlisting the Travie McCoy version of "Higher" if Kylie's is tthe one getting the UK release, I did laugh though  No. It seemed odd when the first radio station did it, but this must be like the 8th radio station that's playlisted the Travie version now, so I was actually expecting it tbh. January 12, 201115 yr because Travie is cool and hip with the kids and Kylie isn't, I bet that's the judgement behind that decision They're so ageist now :( Looks like Madonna and U2 are the only ones left over 40 that can still command a Radio 1 playlist spot, although we'll see if this continues to happen when they both release their next lead singles.

R.E.M. still might, that's the only one I can think of.
January 12, 201115 yr Britney! :D So please that she's been playlisted so soon, I really hope it's a UK #1! :D Great additions from Kanye West, Alexis Jordan and Taio Cruz too. :)
January 12, 201115 yr The follow-up to 'Billionaire' was a complete flop and didn't even make the top 100 though, that's so stupid. I'm not at all surprised. I had a genuine :manson: moment when I heard 'We'll Be Alright' for the first time. From 'Billionaire' to that?!!! -_- As bad as Gabrielle Cilmi going from 'On A Mission' to 'Hearts Don't Lie'. Record companies clearly haven't got a bloody clue.
January 12, 201115 yr JLS/Tinie straight up to B List :D Think this is their first single to do this and good to see they are still supporting them as they don't really tend to support X Factor artists Happy with Taio/Travie addition, Britney Spears and Alexis Jordan. Is the Travie version even getting a release over here ? It's the only one I ever hear on radio, although the Kylie version is getting airplay on music channels

January 12, 201115 yr Solveig and Pendulum A-List ^_^ Skepta and Yasmin B-List :D Travie version of Higher playlisted though  Kanye and Magnetic Man C-List :D I need to hear the Skream song. Chromeo INMWT-List :D
January 12, 201115 yr Author Brit already on playlist :o it's only like 2 days out, impressive! Well it'll start to be on rotation starting next Monday, so they obviously want to be playing it next week already. Not surprised at all since some dj's have already played it a few times.
January 12, 201115 yr Yay for Kanye! :D I'll be very disappointed if this doesn't go top 10 here, despite his lower profile nowadays sales-wise. Hopefully it will "save" the album too. They're so ageist now :( Looks like Madonna and U2 are the only ones left over 40 that can still command a Radio 1 playlist spot, although we'll see if this continues to happen when they both release their next lead singles. What about The Prodigy? Although I suppose it's different for dance acts compared to pop acts... Edited January 12, 201115 yr by superbossanova
