this website claims that she'll be released a new album this year and as a result all kate bush related twitter pages and fansites have been going into overdrive. i'm really sceptical because she's the kind of person i wouldn't believe is releasing something until i see it in my hands plus we all know her track record of time between releasing albums. still it's not stopped me from being as excited as hell! i seriously do hope its true but i'm trying not to get my hopes up..

I'm too young to really be a fan, but I listened to some of Aerial and liked it. I've heard some of her 80s stuff too, I generally don't like older music :( It'll be interesting to see how her style fits into 2011 :)

Colour me cynical, but I thought the press release about a possible new album was to publicise the fact that her last album (Aerial) was now available to download on iTunes. I did enjoy King of the Mountain from the last album, but never really ventured any further than that.

Anyway, I'll believe the news of a new album when I hear it. I very much doubt she'll get a top 5 single from any upcoming album though.

Who cares about chart positions anyway? This is Kate we're talking about.

She'll sell about 300,000 albums regardless of whether she has a hit or not.

And anyway didn't King of the Mountain hit the Top 5 so who knows.

yeah plus she did little to no promotion for that. like 1 radio interview and an interview for a magazine i think?

as long as i hear new music from her i don't care where it charts. the prospect of a new kate bush and bjork album in the same year is just too much!

Providing there was a physical release, I would be first in the queue to buy any single and I don't even buy singles anymore.

The last one I bought was King of the Mountain and I know there are plenty of other Kate loons who will do the same so I wouldn't consider it out of the question that Kate has another hit.

Didn't know Bjork was slated to release as well so that's good news.

it's not confirmed but when asked if shes been working on anything she said yeah it'll be ready in a few months. could just be something else but its not gonna stop me from getting excited! :P

That was my point. I was surprised and glad when King of the Mountain went top 5, but that was at the time when physical singles still made the majority of sales, and I don't think that Kate Bush is really the sort of artist who would do well on downloads.

Aerial didn't really impress me. But I will go back to it at some point and maybe it will grow on me. I hope this news is true.

From Music Week

Four Kate Bush albums are expected to be re-issued this year after the singer won back control of them from EMI, but there is no confirmation yet about any new material coming from her in 2011.

The Dreaming, Hounds Of Love, The Sensual World and The Red Shoes, which EMI originally released between 1982 and 1993, are all lined up to be re-issued with former EMI and PolyGram executive David Munns now acting as a consultant to her.

The one-time EMI worldwide vice chairman and EMI Recorded Music North America chairman and CEO’s association with Bush goes back to when she was first signed to EMI and the release of her first album The Kick Inside in 1978.

“I’ve been involved for about a year now,” said Munns. “People think I’m managing and I’m really consulting. I drift in and out of these projects.”

There has been recent speculation of a new studio album from Bush, which would be her first since Aerial in 2005. That itself did not appear until a dozen years after her previous release The Red Shoes.

“There are other plans but I’m not able to talk about them right now,” is all Munns would say, adding, “There’s nothing ready until Kate says it’s ready. That’s always been the way.”

Munns was also involved in the campaign for last years Greatest Hits album by Bon Jovi, an act he worked with extensively when he was at PolyGram International in the early Nineties and then worked with them in an independent capacity when he left the major in 1998. “I’m still doing stuff with Bon Jovi,” said Munns who took charge of the marketing for the retrospective.

First Suede, now Kate Bush has won back control of their albums, I'm sure Radiohead will be the next artist to wrestle back their back catalogue from their record companies.

Incidentally, how does an artist 'win back' control of their albums? Do they have to take part in a mud wrestling contest with the Head of Music at EMI?

House of Love was already re-issued. Will they be adding more material to it?

Unless it's previously unreleased material there's nothing I don't have so they better make a fuss over the packaging
