Looks like we're going to have to settle for a top 10 for Britney. But hopefully it can pull a Bad Romance (debut low then go #1 eventually).

lol. That's entirely possible. OMG did that. Airplanes did that. Club Can't Handle Me did that. Meet Me Halfway did that. Empire State of Mind almost did that, as did Ridin' Solo. Love the Way You Lie should have done that.

Infact, it's quite common for US songs to climb up the charts. It's the British ones that mainly seem to debut high and then fall quickly. Britney will do fine imo. :)

What an excellent week for new releases. :D Really glad to see Diddy-Dirty Money looking set to become a decent chart hit. Adele doing well is fantastic, and whilst they don't exactly appeal to me Wretch 32 and Aggro Santos also doing incredibly well. Britney Spears and Jodie Connor creeping up, and Britney will definitely go top 10 soon.

I'm still unsure if the Glee tracks will have a big impact on iTunes. 'Telephone' charted the highest last week on iTunes and ended up at no. 25 in the official UK chart. I just don't see this weeks batch of Glee tracks having a bigger impact, but I could well be wrong.

The UK top 20 will be interesting this Sunday.

'Hold It Against Me' will be around for a while.

I have a feeling Britney will stick around for a while. She is fan driven this week. Casual music buyers the next week and then mass audience with huge radio and video airplay :)

I'm pretty sure Toxic will do better than Telephone. Firstly, it's better, and secondly, I think it charted higher in most other countries, and the chart positions of Glee tracks usually correlate to a degree between countries.

The rest probably won't do much though.

indeed diddy has stretched his uk chart career to 15 years now with this new release!! :o

aggro santos is the biggest shock for me - but its video play has been big since xmas!!wont stay in the top 40 very long though.do you think the top 2 could sell over 100k this week?

Love the Way You Lie got to #2 on UK iTunes (and #1 in some other countries) without a video, and that wasn't even a single at the time, plus, it didn't have any airplay. It's first play on UK radio was on the chart update show on Radio 1. It is possible!

just saw the last pop up bars from the last topic - adele doing very weel - 60percent of bruno who has only slowed down a bit - top 2 sales copuld be great - both over 100k???

jessie js pop up bars are great too - hard to tell if her sales will increase again for a 4th week in a row though??

the chars are changing like mad, JLS were at #4 then like 10 mins later they're down to #7 and Coming Home and Traktor were at #4 + #5 respectively.

NEW RELEASES

Rolling in the Deep - #2

Coming Home - #4

Traktor - #5

Like U Like - #8

Now or Never - #14

What the Hell - #54

thats true but i would argue that that song is one of the best songs of the past 5 years - so the two artists got interest in the track initially then once people heard it more people bought it on top of this - it was enough to blow the first single'not afradi' out of the way and most of the rest of the songs on itunes for the majority of summer 2010 lol!!

If Britney's team is SMART and do just like a ten second commercial right BEFORE, in the middle and right AFTER the show. It would go to #1. Even if it didn't stay there the whole week.

A lot of just casual pop lovers will be watching it and will check it out if they know about it.

I doubt Britney Can still get number 1, she needs to be top 5 by tonight and 1 by tommorow and hold on until Sunday if she wishes to do so.

YAY for Britney! :D Can't believe she's doing so well without a video.

Anyways, can someone please tell me where Pixie's "Can't Make This Over" and The Pretty Recklesss' "Just Tonight" is?
