January 30, 201114 yr Author 02 | Rihanna - Only Girl (In The World) | 213pts pa14VNsdSYM Just missing out on the topspot, is Rihanna with her huge single 'Only Girl (In The World)'. Rihanna has had a huge year, having two #01 singles and a huge #01 album with 'Loud' too, which 'Only Girl (In The World)' was the lead single off of. It is now Rihanna's best selling single, overtaking her mega 'Umbrella' of 2007 and sold over 600,000 copies in the UK! I think the song is pretty anthemic and will have you dancing if it's in a club no matter what, for some reason she can make the seemingly generic seem somehow unique, how, I don't know. I still regard it as one of her weaker singles, and prefered 'Whats My Name' by a long shot, but it's still a pretty decent song. Which means at #01 is ... 01 | Lady GaGa & Beyoncé - Telephone | 228pts EVBsypHzF3U BuzzJack's record of the year, is perhaps unsurprisingly Lady GaGa & Beyoncé's huge 'Telephone' which was released right at the start of 2010. When Lady GaGa teamed up with Beyoncé, it was always going to be one of the biggest collabs in quite a while, but it wasn't until that epic video that it became something of a phenemon and stormed to #01 in the UK, and also becoming one of the years biggest sellers too. It clicked with me the first time I heard it, but unfortunately it did get old pretty quickly but I still regard it as one of Lady GaGa's best ... I even prefer it to 'Bad Romance' [Commercial Radio pretty much killed it and I can't avoid it at work! :(] I think! So there you have it, Lady GaGa and Beyoncé's 'Telephone' is BuzzJack's record of the year! :D Thankyou to Klumzee who helped compile some of the results and everyone who voted, read and replied! ^_^ Edited January 30, 201114 yr by Jack
January 30, 201114 yr I agree that Telephone > Bad Romance. Telephone isn't too bad. Ironically, it's probably got a more unique and interesting structure than most of the other songs in the chart.
January 30, 201114 yr At least they were 15 points apart, so I know there's nothing I could've done about it.
January 30, 201114 yr Yay! :D the better song won imo, Only Girl is OK, but its not *that* good, and I was sick of her winning everything and thanks for doing this, Jack ^_^
January 30, 201114 yr I really didn't mind which won tbh, they're both in my top 3 of 2010, as I said. I slightly prefer Only Girl, but ah well, great winner
January 30, 201114 yr To be fair, at the time there was kind of a euphoria around the song, you could feel the hype. So, I do get it. ^_^
January 31, 201114 yr Great result. :cheer:  It was my second favourite song of the year, with Starry Eyed coming first and Once third.
