low top 10 with lots of physical formats.
These days Mcfly sell more downloads then Physical.

Party girls 40,000 first week sales only had 10,000 physical both Party girl and Shine a Light sold better on downloads then CD sales which is unusual for mcfly.

Thats the truth was decided as the next single because it won the fans vote.

Nowhere left to run will be the final single i think given the reaction they have had from it

Yeah but the ironic thing about that is that all the fans will already have it on the album so won't bother buying it again (aside from a few of the hardcore lot who will buy the physicals). So it all depends on whether the song will appeal to a wider audience or not, like Shine A Light did.

I really think it could, but as I said it needs the airplay! Shine A Light received great airplay, hopefully this will follow!

Thats The Truth seems to be getting a good reaction at the moment despite them not actually promoting it yet.

It's been on I Tunes the past few days and has climbed to 271 which i know isn't high but that isn't bad going for a Mcfly song thats never had any promotion and is over a month before release

Probably top 10 cos they usually do well, but could go top 5 with airplay/promo! Not as good as PG or SAL imo (neither of which I was crazy about anyway)

A friend of mine has been complaining that the song has been following her. Apparently its always on the music channels and radio already. Hope that is true, and that it gets A Listed on Radio 1.

I've heard it once on the radio (and tend to listen about 8/9 hours aday when at work)

and i've seen the video on the music channel twice

This is the best song they've made, besides All About You & Shine A Light, imo.

I hope this does well. Should do around the same as Shine A Light has.

It seems to be doing ok on I tunes at the moment despite having no promotion or anything

Would love it to go Top 5 but i can't see it matching the success of Shine A Light... in an era where you can't really expect the third single off any album to do that well, I think they'll be lucky to go Top 20, even with a physical release.

Now here is a Mcfly fan thats sticks out like a sore thumb - if fact I cann't believe you are a Mcfly fan, there's been a mix up at the plant - please send back one of your usuals!

How on earth did you became so music chart aware/savvy  ???? Whats the matter with the usual Mcfly fan "slapping together of fantasy + imagination" that passes for accurate chart prediction?? ;)

Perhaps you will know if they actually sold their new album significantly ANYWHERE outside the UK (eg Ireland = not significant size market)? Do you think they have sold enough even in the UK to secure a further album?I know i don't need to tell you single sales from one market alone(unless exceptional) aren't going to get you very far with the ALL the costs associated with producing a new album.

Hope that is true, and that it gets A Listed on Radio 1.

Did either of the the past 2 get R1 A- listed :o - i'm surprsed given their dodgy, chart integrity killing use of ringtone chart downloads past (or was that Busted? -just all the same boyband one finished the other started it all blurred into never ending boyband hell :( )

However it IS currently ON the Radio2 C list: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/music/playlist/next-week/

But That's the Truth only just won the fan vote above it, which is why it has been released.

Westlife fans said their second single had been chosen by the fans......that didn't stop it from being cancelled from lack of interest HOWEVER their rec co Syco is renown for screwing over acts but anyway Mcfly own their own label, so its irrelevant i guess

Meet Me Halfway sold 750,000, so you never know!!

THATS A whole LOT of RINGTONES! ;)

Lets see, 750K divided by the number of concerts/divided by the number of fans they managed to coerce into downloading the ringtones at each concert (+ accounting for multiple downloading + spare mobiles for 2 at once download + extra sad girlies downloading outside of concert time) = lots girlies romantic nature taken advantage of= ZERO chart integrity of resulting chart position'

{sorry that was too much of a humorous (self) therapeutic opportunity to miss pls IGNORE + carry on}

Edited by ima

Might scrape T10 on the week of physical release, then plummet, since they don't have Taio's fans to prop them up this time.

Well, I got Meet Me Halfway because it's one of my favourite songs. :)

And it's not only girls who buy love songs (apart from Just the Way You Are ).

Hmmm i can't work out whether you're having a go at me or praising me  but anyway in answer to your question, i don't think McFly sell significantly anywhere outside the UK. But even if the albums don't do well, they have their own label so they'll keep releasing albums anyway, they don't need to worry about getting dropped! Plus they make a lot of money from touring and stuff.

Hasn't even been added to the R1 playlist yet, which is quite surprising. Dunno if they're not gonna bother this time? They're playing it on Capital a lot though, i don't listen to Capital much but every time i do it seems to be on!

Someone above asked about sales outside of the UK - dunno exact sales or anything but I know their singles/ albums have been doing very well in Brazil and Portugal. Not sure if that means much.

Also, about the record label - its a very odd deal. I think Universal only profit from concerts and gigs, so it doesn't matter how much their albums sell etc. as long as they keep selling enough concert tickets. McFly profit from the singles etc. but they also profit from the Super City website they have created and its subscription payments - which is why Universal allowed them to release tracks for free on there.

Radio 1 - well I don't know why its not made their playlist yet like the last 2 tracks. Radio 1 can add tracks late, though. We shall see.

One for the radio and Lies went Platinum in Brazil with both selling over 100,000 copies.

Mcfly are quite big in mexico as well.

Yeah it's a 50/50 deal and the super city makes them a hell of alot of money anyway.

They have just finished sell-out concerts In france,Belgium,Amesterdam and are now getting ready to do all UK Arenas and a number of sold out concerts in Spain so they our making their money which is why they can afford to give the albumaway free
