Good commentary as always :D

Can't believe of all acts, it's The Corrs who got the elusive 1-2 in the albums chart! I still fully remember my OTT reaction to the news whilst listening to that chart as a 12 year old, I couldn't quite comprehend how any act could manage such a feat, let alone the act who were by far my favourite with two albums that still rank very highly amongst my all time favourites, it seemed too good to be true! It's easy to forget just how big The Corrs were in 1998-2000.

Thanks :D Yes, it's strange just how popular The Corrs were for a time.

Adele's the new Corrs! Appeals to Radio 1, Radio 2 and commercial radio and hence commands huge album sales with a music style who literally nobody else is currently having success with, certainly not in the singles chart. The comparisons of course end there  But it's slightly strange that an Irish family band playing traditional Irish music mixed with pop would become such a cultural phenomenon for a few years, not that I was ever complaining.

And appealing to much the same widespread constituency that Dido has done as well

The Love Cats would be a great name for a band. I'm surprised no-one's thought of it yet.

I bet that given what's going on at the moment, Funeral Party are glad they didn't nme themselves after a track on The Cure's 'Three Imaginary Boys' album, the unfortunately titled 'Fire in Cairo'
