Posted January 31, 201115 yr Jessie J pushing Bruno Mars close Source: MW 12:12 | Tuesday February 1, 2011 By Paul Williams Singles One of the first releases to be affected by Universal’s decision to close the sales/airplay window is set to make a big initial dent on the new UK singles chart, with Jessie J’s Price Tag only being outsold this week by Bruno Mars. Just days after debuting at both retail and radio, the Island/Lava-issued Price Tag is just 4,000 sales behind the week’s current frontrunner, Elektra/Atlantic act Bruno Mars’ Grenade, according to OCC data. Both Universal and Sony announced last month it was shutting the airplay/sales window for future releases, meaning tracks would be available to buy almost as soon as stations started playing them. Jessie J’s new single will be joined in this coming Sunday’s Top 10 by its predecessor Do It Like A Dude, which is the sixth biggest seller at this point in the week, behind Grenade, Price Tag, RCA act Ke$ha’s We R Who We R, XL signing Adele’s Rolling In The Deep and the Bad Boy/Interscope-issued Coming Home by Diddy Dirty Money and Skylar Grey. Polydor act Enrique Iglesias is likely to debut in the Top 10 with his new Ludacris-paired single Tonight (I’m F**kin’ You), which is presently placed ninth for the week. Other new entries lower down should include Ministry of Sound act Yasmin’s On My Own and the 4th & Broadway/Island-issued Higher by Taio Cruz featuring Kylie Minogue. Albums After achieving an opening week of 208,090 units, XL act Adele’s second album has been hit by a week-on-week sales drop of 36.2% but that should still be good enough to give it a second week at one. Closest to it is Mercury act Chase & Status’s newly-released album No More Idols, while Bruno Mars’ Doo-Wops & Hooligans is currently placed third, Adele’s first XL album 19 fourth and Def Jam/Mercury Rihanna’s Loud fifth. A new Eva Cassidy compilation, the Blix Street-issued Simply Eva, is showing up in midweek sales as a new entry at six, while a repackaged version of RCA act Ke$ha’s debut album Animal is 11th. Other new arrivals include Loog/Polydor’s Chapel Love with Palace, a reissue of George Michael’s Sony album Faith, a Rhino Roberta Flack compilation and new titles from UMTV’s Skepta and Memphis Industries’ Go Team. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Top 40 Only Singles 1 Bruno Mars 2 Jessie J/B.o.B [PT] (4k behind) 3 Kesha 4 Adele 5 Diddy & Dirty Money Top 10 8 Chris Brown 9 Enrique Pink Top 15 14 Tinie Tempah/Ellie Goulding Top 20 Taio Cruz/Travie/Kylie Top 30 24 Yasmin Adele [sLY] Top 40 40 Avril Lavigne ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Albums 1 Adele (44k) 2 Chase & Status 3 Bruno Mars 4 Adele 5 Rihanna Top 10 6 Eva Cassidy Rumer Top 15 11 Ke$ha Top 20 Chapel Club Top 30 George Michael Top 40 Skepta Go Team Roberta Flack Two Door Cinema Club NO SALES INFO ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ARTIST UPDATES Singles Jessie J 3+3 Rihanna/Drake 10+2 Martin Solveig 10+3 JLS 10+5 Britney 10+6 BEPs 20+6 Rihanna [OG] 20+8 Katy Perry 20+10 Matt Cardle 20+11 Albums Ellie 4+4 Tinie Temaph 5+5 Plan B 10+3 Take That 10+7 Katy 10+8 Olly 10+9 Pink 15+5 Lady GaGa 20+4 JLS 30+1 Cheryl Cole 30+6 Pixie Lott 30+7

February 1, 201115 yr Author PLEASE READ THESE RULES BEFORE POSTING [01] Any member that is caught spamming, or trying to cause an argument to get a reaction will be severely warned with a ban for 7 days from posting on the forum. [02] This is a mid thread for every artist do not go on and on and on about a certain artist to bring the board into disrepute. [03] Please be patient when you are asking for a request, as you might not get an answer straight away. [04] Any member asking for information that isn't in the updates we don't have, always read the topic before you post, I do not want to see questions like Where is Britney? repeated several times on every page of the thread, once is enough, bookmark the page if you don't have time to read all of the topic. Its not that hard. [05] Do not use BLOCK CAPITALS when posting a sentence its considered as shouting and rude. [06] Do not use Text Talk. [07] Do not use a light colour font when posting please its hard to read the topic, not everyone has 100% vision. [08] Please give a mention to who posted the chart info or the site name where you seen the mid info if you are copying and posting the chart info elsewhere, it takes forever trying to re-edit all the information up for you to see. [09] Please do not post lists, or sales info unless you are told to by myself or a chart mod, if you do have sales info that you wish to share round them off to the nearest thousand and name your source, do not post precise sales figures. [10] Regarding chart postions when posted when you see a sum/substraction for example 22+4, 40-7, if you add/subtract both figures together it gives you the actual position for the track. Its just simple addition or substraction. Go Figure.
February 1, 201115 yr Author Taio Cruz is listed twice in the update, he has a solo version of Higher Top 20, he be higher when combined, how ironic
February 1, 201115 yr #24 is higher than expected for Yasmin as not doing so great on iTunes! And didn't expect Jessie/B.o.B to be #2already by today, thought maybe by tomorrow. Chances for her to grab #1 then I guess.
February 1, 201115 yr Jessie about to have two consecutive #2's in a row. She's the new Rihanna. Don't think so, Price Tag should get it by the end of the week the rate its rising on itunes. Even if it falls short, its airplay has hardly even started yet so it will be #1 next week or the week after.
February 1, 201115 yr Price Tag sounds like Natasha Bedingfield singing a Natasha Bedingfield song. Let down, after Do it like a dude. Anyway, ADELE no.1 on albums again, all that matters :)

Even if it falls short, its airplay has hardly even started yet so it will be #1 next week or the week after. She will also have the Brits effect, so I can see her hogging the #1 spot for a while. :(
February 1, 201115 yr Messy Little Raindrops is really hanging around in the top 40...whats the most recent sales guess we have? 550,000?
February 1, 201115 yr How did Price Tag take off SO quickly :o I thought it would take a couple of weeks to move into the top five, it's had minimal promo, radio and TV airplay and seems to be selling off hype and people who've already heard it in advance on the internet at the moment. Quite shocking! Could wind up a very big seller as the majority of the public won't have heard it yet.
