June 8, 201114 yr Rumours for next films in the x-men franchise atm are, X-Men 4, X-Men First Class 2 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine 2. That's what i've heard anyway. As far as I know X Men series is done with, Patrick Stewart is no longer interested in reviving Professor X role, unless a different actor will step in his shoes, I hope not as I think no one can replace Patrick Stewart in that role, unless they are doing the film without Professor X, which I doubt it, as the character is central to the X Men franchise. X Men Origins: Wolverine 2 is in the works I know that for sure, I'm surprised actually, as the first film I heard was pretty dire.
June 8, 201114 yr There are definitely talks for X-Men 4. I'm sure money will talk to those (Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry) unsure about returning. I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen in the next few years tbh, First Class hasn't done amazingly (despite the good reviews) and I'm sure Marvel miss the extra £££.
June 8, 201114 yr First Class hasn't done amazingly (despite the good reviews) and I'm sure Marvel miss the extra £££. It's budget is $160m and currently it's made $124.5m, I would call that pretty amazing, considering it has been out for a week.
June 8, 201114 yr No no no. I definitely think it has done well (despite failing to meet studio expectations) but compared the first trilogy... You can easily see why they'd want to make another. Edited June 8, 201114 yr by ▲▲▲
June 8, 201114 yr It's budget is $160m and currently it's made $124.5m, I would call that pretty amazing, considering it has been out for a week. But it has the lowest attendence for the series yet, it was forecasted to do $60 million + opening weekend but did less than that, and if they continue going down the endless origin/reboot route then it will only get worse. If they want to see truly big numbers again then they should do X-Men 4. Then again it might just be series fatigue and there's nothing they can do to stop the diminishing returns. June 8, 201114 yr Would Patrick Stewart necessarily be in a potential X-Men 4 film though? Considering the Prof. was vapourised by Jean in the third installment...
June 8, 201114 yr Would Patrick Stewart necessarily be in a potential X-Men 4 film though? Considering the Prof. was vapourised by Jean in the third installment... I completely forgot about that! Haha! The random Cyclops death too.
June 8, 201114 yr Yeaaaah! I would like to see a 4th, but at the same time with them having killed off 3 major characters in Scott, Jean and Prof. X you would think it's a bit of a bum deal. I'd like to see some sort of follow up to what happened with Magneto though, considering we were left hanging in regard to whether he actually still did have his powers or not.
June 8, 201114 yr I completely forgot about that! Haha! The random Cyclops death too. Oh yeah, I remember that, when I watched in the cinema (without having seen the first two at this point in time) it was a very wtf moment for me.
June 9, 201114 yr i think if they brought out a second First Class it would out perform the first one, Just like how X2 beat X1.
June 11, 201114 yr Not sure how they could do an X-Men 4, there was too much unnecessary killing off of characters in 3. Really enjoyed this, not sure how they'd be able to fit in two sequels without doing over stuff from the original trilogy. And what would they call the sequel? Second class? Business class?
June 12, 201114 yr LOL!! X-Men: First Class is a comic book series. So one would assume it'd be X-Men: First Class 2.
June 19, 201114 yr I rather enjoyed this when I saw it the other day. The only other X Men film I have seen is the Wolverine Origin one, and I really need to see the original trio asap
June 21, 201114 yr Seen this the other night. Better than XO:Wolverine and X3, but still X1 and X2 were better. There's loads of inconsistencies with both the other movies and the comics themselves (I'm no expert though). And in what year did Wolverine end? Wasn't it in some later year than this one? Why was Emma Frost a teenager in Wolverine and a full grown woman in this one? I'm baffled. Anyway, I'm waiting for X-Men 4 with Psylocke (PLEASE!) and X-Men Origins: Gambit. Yes. Please, thank you! I do hope they getthe Days of Future Past storyline in the big screen. Massive X-Men era, although it's set in an alternative future... Also bring Apocalypse or Mr. Sinister to the table... Massive villains yet to appear.
June 21, 201114 yr Author Psylocke  Life really isn't the same without a British Telepath in a Japanese Ninja's body  Bring the Phoenix Saga to the cinema  Edited June 21, 201114 yr by Regina
June 22, 201114 yr Psylocke  Life really isn't the same without a British Telepath in a Japanese Ninja's body  Brilliant, albeit confusing, storyline for a character. I reckon Lucy Liu could do the part, or maybe the lady from Nikita. Bring the Phoenix Saga to the cinema  Wasn't that what X3 was all about?
June 22, 201114 yr Author Well yes but I mean do it properly, with the Shi'ar Empire, Hellfire Club etc
November 28, 201212 yr Finally seen this, and it was excellent. Loved the casting, and I loved the fact it was an intelligent blockbuster. It made you think. Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence completely stole the film though, especially the former. I'm just interested in whether this film is prequel or a reboot! I think they're sort of going to a preboot. I don't think much attention should really be compared (or too much sleep should be lost) comparing it to the other X-Men films, even if the news that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are confirmed to be appearing in the sequel!
