An interesting week! Adele vs Lady GaGa vs Jessie J!

A potentially all female top 5? Adele (x2), Jessie J, Lady GaGa and maybe Rihanna

Ooohh, how amazing if Adele could beat GaGa to number 1 on Sunday. What a victory for talent over hype it would be.

THIS.

 Neither of the two songs use sampling, as far as I'm aware. They both just sound a lot like the other songs. Most of the songs in the chart sound like previous chart hits in some way.
Personally, I think Rihanna's backing track tonight deserves to be up there on iTunes. She made One direction look unaided.

lol. Someone at my work did a similar thing with Take That too. They were like "They're the biggest pop group in the world", and I was like "Um, Black Eyed Peas?"

I guess sometimes if you're not following everything properly, it might be difficult to know who's British and who's world-wide.

That said, Cheryl (and Take That) have had #1s in Europe, but I guess in othere countries they're selling solely due to their music, as they don't have the media profiling them.

Yeah i get what you're saying its purely down to the music overseas and no media attention and profiling and i completely agree but in fairness Take That and Cheryl Cole cant really be named in the same breath, apart from Fight for Love none of her other songs have charted abroad and with Take That their albums shift crazy amounts all over the place (apart from the US), then again didnt back for good go number 1 in 30 odd countries and top 10 in the US? either way patience, the flood etc have charted very well all over europe so until Cheryl starts selling singles and albums abroad consistently she wont be defined as BIG (even tho i bet her bank account isnt looking too bad over the last couple of years lol)......maybe it'll change if she moves to America but who knows

Um, the songs don't have any resemblance at all.

Did you see Madonna perform at the GRAMMYs on Sunday?, she looked so flawless coming out the egg.

LOL, OK, Gaga song may not be original but PUH-LEASE, Jessie J's song is just a generic Dr. Luke track. Hardly original either.

lol, what? Cheryl is not as big abroad as she is in the UK, but ALL of her songs have charted abroad, apart from The Flood.

Infact, 3 Words and Parachute were actually bigger in some other countries than they were in the UK.

someone please post an updated iTunes pop bar chart

Any idea what happened to Wynter - Dirty Talk? Did it ever crack Top 1000 even? Had the potential to do well I thought!

Great to see SLY up at #4, great song and she delivers it incredibly well live :)

I'm pretty sure in the end it didn't get released, it's back on the 'coming soon' section of the release schedule.

Just noticed Kidz by Take That is almost top 40 now (#41)

Just watched it again and i have to say that Take That's performance and Tinie Tempah's set were both absolutely excellent!

The way Tinie dropped into Miami 2 Ibiza  and Take That flying the UK flag behind them walking through the riot police, excellent stuff!

Baring in mind Miami 2 Ibiza has already charted pretty high it would be nice for Take That to do well with Kidz and for Plan B's Love Goes Down to move up the charts a bit closer to top 40

I didn't think much of Tinie's performance at all. I do like him and most of his songs, but from what I've seen a good live performer he certainly isn't.
I can't believe Ellie Goulding missed out - she should have got Best British Single for 'Your Song', and Best British Female.
Adele up too #4 climbing fast :o

For those of us who remember, would anyone else call her this generation's answer to Alison Moyet?
