I don't think Adele will make it. I think Lady Ga Ga has sold too much earlier in the week, so Adele will have to get a big lead to get a chance. So another number 2 calls sadly :snif:.

Hmm, forget about Tinie getting 8 songs top 100 this week, apparently We Bring The Stars Out is being combined to Pass Out which is ridiculous. He could still get 7 though (which would be the second time he's got 7 this year, he had 7 on the last week of Game Over's chart run)

Gosh! I think this have to be the worst and best week for me. My favorite UK female act atm vs my favorite international female act! I want so bad Lady GaGa to be number 1 but still Adele's Someone Like You is wonderful and that performance was incredible! She deserves that f***ing number 1 and i think Lady GaGa will get number 1 when her probably talk of the world video comes out! Can't we just split that number 1 for both of them? :drama:

Fantastic for Adele, and I think the record company should just allow music channels to play Adele's Brit performance as the official music video (like 'You Got The Dirtee Love' last year) but also get radio stations to support the album version. There is so much potential right now for 'Someone Like You' to be a massive hit but it all depends on how fast the record company react to the buzz surrounding the track.

 

So once again it looks like it'll be another potentially exciting top 3 come Sunday. I just hope people don't start posting sales figures at 17:00pm on Sunday and completely ruin any element of excitement there could actually be. -_- (well, there's always one who think they're clever but ultimate they fail big time!!! :rolleyes: ).

When Missing You by the Black Eyed Peas was released as a single in some countries, they used a live performance as the music video.

 

Also, I believe the music video for Empire State of Mind, Part II was a live performance, because, again, that song was only released in a few countries, so I guess they didn't bother making a proper video for it?

 

I've already heard the song on the radio (outside of the chart show), but they played the live version from the BRITs. And both times on the chart show I think they played her live loungue version, so I haven't heard the studio version on the radio yet. :lol:

 

I hope they do release it as a single though, and the throw a rap verse in there somewhere. :)

The only ones not released are Rihanna and Arcade Fire presumably due to issues with their labels.

I'm living with Spanish housemates and they're bemused that almost every song on UK radio (at least the station we're tuned into in the kitchen) follows the sung chorus/rap verse formula. They finally thought that there was some respite when Rescue Me by You Me At Six came on, but I didn't spoil the surprise that the rap verse was still to come :lol:

 

Well...YM@6 had to do something to finally get that elusive hit single didn't they, if you can't beat them join them! (It's by FAR their best single imo anyway, but I love the rap verse/sung chorus formula so no surprise there!)

Btw, incase anybody wasn't 100% sure, I WAS joking. I shudder to even imagine that song with a random rap verse half-way through. :lol: Even if it was well-written, unlike ours (and Soulja Boys's) verses, and actually had something to do with the song, it just wouldn't sound right tbh.
