February 16, 201114 yr That would beat the record from 47-1, or is it RATM, I can't remember without looking up on my database on my PC, which has gone tits up at the moment. RATM went 80-1, which is the biggest jump from within the top 100 Biggest jump to #1 from within the top 75 was Pixie's Boys And Girls, 73-1. SLY would be the second biggest in the top 75 though I think (beating 45-1 of DJ Otzi's Hey Baby) Westlife's Mandy has the absolute unbeatable record looking at the whole top 200, it went 200-1.
February 16, 201114 yr Not only that song, she's also had huge hits 'Chasing Pavements' and 'Rolling in the Deep', and now 'Someone Like You' so she isnt just connected with Make You Feel My Love. :) She's connected with two huge albums and 4 huge songs. #1 #1 #1! I do know that. However, the general public will connect her with that song continually until she gets a hit everyone is talking about, the point of what i said.

Everyone is talking about 'Someone Like You'. So that now is the song the general public connect her with. However we cant actually generalise what the general public connect her with, as we cant ask everyone, but right now, SLY is the talk of the nation, as is Adele's new album of course. February 16, 201114 yr I'm bracing myself for a slew of wannabes warbling/murdering SLY at the X factor auditions. Puke.
February 16, 201114 yr I'm bracing myself for a slew of wannabes warbling/murdering SLY at the X factor auditions. Puke. I doubt many people will take this song on. MYFML is an easier song to sing i think, and easily covered, this however I cant see many people trying to sing as she's put the bar so high people wont be able to compare, unless you get a really great singer taking it on then that would be good to see. Dont think anyone can or will sing it like Adele does though.
February 16, 201114 yr from twitter... For those asking, all Brits performances downloaded will count as their original songs, will just be a different version of it. @OfficialCharts how will you count @TinieTempah performance?! Тhere is no original song called: We Bring The Stars Out?!@iTSANcho His single Pass Out @OfficialCharts Hm... This is so... controversial!!! Why not count to Written In The Stars?!@OfficialCharts And why then last year You Got The Dirtee Love by Florence & Dizzee Rascal was counted as original song?! no reply yet from @OfficialCharts, what do you think?
February 16, 201114 yr I voted top 5 as it will likely fall short of number 1 this week, and with no airplay or music video, it's sales will trail off. Shame, it would be a lovely number 1. Edited February 16, 201114 yr by starryeyed

It'll get airplay, trust me. For starters, I heard them play the live BRITs version on Radio 1 today. Secondly, songs don't go top 10 on iTunes and not get airplay. That just doesn't happen. Songs don't have to be released as singles to get airplay. Most notable example is Love the Way You Lie. But even so, I hear album tracks of all sorts on the radio from time to time. I think this week is it's only chance.
February 16, 201114 yr I don't see it getting airplay quick enough(this week) to get to number 1 though . I think this week is it's only chance. Oh, that is probably true. I would like it to get to #1, because Price Tag has been there 2 weeks, and I think it'll be really amusing to see the reaction if Lady Gaga doesn't get it (although it won't be that amusing unfortunately, since most of her fans seem to the like the song aswell). Also, about record jumps to #1, Gettin' Over You almost beat the record from within the top 40. It jumped 41-1. Alejandro was the song that climbed into the top 40 and knocked it out that week, iirc. February 16, 201114 yr most of her fans seem to the like the song aswell). I am a massive Lady Ga Ga fan, but I don't like Born This Way. I feel it is a massive anti-climax. I would love to see Adele number 1, as ballads don't do so well any more.

I meant most Gaga fans seem to like Someone Like You. I think it would've been funnier if she got beaten to #1 by a song most of them hated, such as Champion. That said, I still think Born This Way will win it this week.
February 16, 201114 yr Relax! Albums are always more important than singles and Adelle is doing well beyond anyones expectations with album sales! TT have not gained enough momentum with Kidz and Brits to give her a run yet so she could spend a *few* more weeks at no1. Her album sales are even more massive considering it is February! She is definitely getting all the credit she deserves! ;)
