Cowell clearly thinking with neither head or heart here.

This suprises me actually. Introducing a unknown with the personality of a cabbage to the US to front your new show makes a grand total of no sense in my opinion, but hey, what do I know?

Cheryl's been officially confirmed for The X Factor USA, looks like it's a goodbye to Simon and Cheryl!

Who Officially confirmed it?

But the Americans worship the ground Simon walks on and treat everything he says as gospel. So in short - if Simon tells them Cheryl is the Bees Knees - then America will see her as the Bees Knees.

I actually don't mind Cheryl Cole and think she comes in for a load of unwarranted flak in the UK - but I honestly don't understand Simon trying to make a huge thing of her in the States. It seems like he wants to crown himself as this century's 'Enry 'Iggins - with Cheryl being his Eliza Doolittle! Its like he's playing out some modern day Svengali/Trilby scenario with Cheryl as his Trilby.

You're turning into Tyron, posting the same thing on both Twitter and Buzzjack! :o

The Mirror are running it as headline news tomorrow. ^_^

Anyway, this is fabulous news. I was running out of material on Cheryl Cole short of her hating all black contestants and Simon was fairly hard to take the piss out of anyway. Geru 4 head judge please.

reading whats being said, its just more speculation really. I dont think america will take to cheryl tbh.

Yeah it is still just complete speculation? Unless it is in the Guardian, Times or Telegraph (not that these papers would report on X Factor anyway...) then it's all crap. I've just read the article and the sources are laughable if true. I can't see how people are thinking this will be a good career move for her? It is practically career suicide. She is not going to be Cheryl Cole on the show, she'll be some fake, pretty brunette with a weird voice.

READING BETWEEN THE LINES aswell, it seems to me that the reason the announcement is taking so long, is FULLY because of Cheryl Cole. The FOX bosses obviously are not convinced by her, she's probably having screen tests in front of senior members/fake auditions as we type...

It would just be TOO bizarre if Cherly got the gig. It surely is Cowell against EVERYONE ELSE on this.

The simple fact is America WON'T give a stuff, especially given the X Factor is going to be competing against a revamped American Idol - which is doing pretty damn well and has just got itself two genuine world superstars with J-Lo and Steven Tyler. Why on earth does Cowell think hiring Cherly is going to be the best way to defeat them in the ratings, given she's COMPLETELY unknown there? Big as she is in the UK, as far as America are concerned, he may as well be giving the job to one of the girls from Mini Viva or Girls Can't Catch. Loyalty is one thing, but this is complete suicide.

I can see Fox losing in the short run and having Cheryl announced as a judge, only for the first episode to go to a test audience and her to get slammed for being fake, full of $h!t and the fact that they can't understand a word she says. [Very regionalised British accents don't go down well with the US as a whole. There is a reason Hollywood films and American TV shows are full of Brit actors with either a US accent or the same vile British accent that's basically try hard posh] After she fails the test audience Fox will demand that she be removed or they'll kill/sabotage the project.

Fox are clearing 3hours off their fall schedule for this, that's 3hrs of current and new programming foregone for this. They can't afford to have her on the panel if the US isn't going to understand or take to her. They are a ruthless network and i can see them pulling it mid way through if they don't get what they want or the ratings are poor. Simon doesn't have AI to hold over their heads as it's doing just as good as last year and is raking in the views and 18-49 ratings for Fox and he's already quit.

So, yeah, even if she is announced as a judge, i wouldn't take it as gospel until the live shows start airing.

I can't find anywhere that Cheryl has been 'officially confirmed' except in tabloids, so I'll wait for confirmation from Cheryl/Simon before believing this

I do kind of agree, she just wouldn't suit well on US TV- no one would really care

Imagine it now;

** audience appluase as contestant has just finished their performance **

Cheryl - "You look stunning and that dress is A-MAY-ZING"

Heckler 1 - "What about the singing?"

Heckler 2 - "You can't judge singing, you can't even sing yourself"

Heckler 1 - "Bring back Paula Abdul, all is forgiven. At least we can understand what she says"

Cheryl - ** cries **

...but seriously, nobody can say for sure how this will pan out until all rumours have been confirmed. If Cheryl is a judge, she might well prove to be popular with the American market. Cheryl certainly owes a lot to both Simon Cowell and Will.I.Am.

I doubt the tabloids would risk revealing the story (Someone said the Mirror was running this as a headline tomorrow) if they didn't have some evidence or any secret evidence etc.

It would have run today (24th feb) if it was going to be announced. They have no evidence, and only laughable sources. I mean do you know how much ABOLUTE RUBBISH is spread through the tabloids lol???????? They put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5. It doesn't take a donkey to work out if Cheryl is in the US. Like I've said before, I am 100% the reason for the delay in the announcements is because of Cheryl Cole. I'm sure she'll end up on the panel for US X Factor though.

So the latest rumour is that Cherly does NOT have a role on the judging panel, but instead will be Simon's sidekick behind the scenes - essentially his Sinitta. Which makes a lot more sense it has to be said.
Why was my post deleted ? :???:

What post?

I haven't deleted a post by you as far as i can remember.

That's a shame, I like Sinitta!

But seriously if this is true then she has really gone down the pan.

That's not the role Cheryl probably has her heart set on, but at least Simon can force through that decision (since Sinitta is HARDLY high-profile here and appears series after series.) It's a shame if this is true that she's been relegated to the non-entity who wears the dress of leaves to try and get some attention, but it's still a part in a huge US show. I reckon that's the best chance she has now, since I'm pretty convinced no one at Fox wants her, and I'm not convinced she'd be received well if she DID make it.

Yet again nothing has been confirmed.
