 Yes Adele is miles ahead, and her lead will grow as the week goes on I predict, #1 for a 3rd week with 100,000+ sales again? Possibly..

Possibly but very unlikely. I’d be surprised if her sales can be maintained at another 100k+ level this week, given the drop in sales over the past week.

Also Jessie has an album out so I don’t think Adele’s lead will grow over the week at all – album releases usually boost, or at the very least, maintain a track’s sales, due to cherry picking of the album version.

I will be very surprised if Jessie J's album includes alot of cherry picking for such a hyped artist her album is poor.Too much filler and not enough substance.Claire Maguires album is really good though. She has huge potential but clearly Adele is leaving everyone behind this year.Gutted once again for Alesha, I seem to repeat that phrase for every release of hers.

I agree but I was referencing specifically cherry picking of Price Tag.

Black and Yellow up to #39! I hope it can make top 40 this week.

And it'd be great if Who's That Chick? could go back top 10 on iTunes and replace Grenade, but this won't happen in a million years. :(

I don't, I hate fake versions charting, but I hope that it will cause them to rush release the original.

However Gaga video is out today at 4oclock, it'll be played endlessly this week, enough to push it to #1, with publicity too? Again possibly..

I wish it was, just so there were 2 talented aritsts involved int eh battle for #1 :kink: Gaga will be back in the top 5 though for sure, probably top 3.

it really depends on how interesting it is- if its another Telephone-esque video, it could challenge for number 1, if its an Alejandro-esque video, it will most likely go top 3 and no higher

This sounds AMAZING from the 30 second preview clip (which is probably why it's being cherry-picked the most). Her whole album sounds really good infact, although a few of the songs seem to sound pretty similar.

Will the video premiere for GaGa's 'Born This Way' be on the website?

Jessie's album version(s) of Price Tag are going to get really high up the iTunes chart - wonder if one of them could make the top 10?

Looking at the popularity bars, I'm pretty sure the video will prompt Born This Way to jump to atleast #4 before long, as a minimum - whether it goes higher depends on just how hyped the video is.
I don't get why album tracks chart so high! Let's say there are the casual buyers and buy for example Price Tag! Why is Price Tag album and single versions both so high? Shouldn't the one fall and the other climb? Don't know if you understand what i'm saying

Surely though the single version is falling - its dropped from the top spot - so people are buying the album version

I don't think I 100% understand what you're getting at, but sometimes it has happened, where the single version is released before the album, but once the album is released, the album version climbs and the single version falls (but overall the song climbs a bit). I think it tends to happen with those artists that have massive albums, because their albums get so many views on iTunes that people just decide to cherry-pick tracks from there. This happened with songs like Not Afraid by Eminem and Rolling in the Deep by Adele.

But most songs (especially songs lower down the chart) climb when the album is released. Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Example, amongst others, saw their first singles climb massively the week when their album was released.

I think sales for pre-album singles also sometimes increase on the release week because the artist simply does a lot of promotion in general.

I don't know if I've answered your question.

Merci eric! I think i get it somehow! I suppose buyers that didn't know about album release informed due to front page coverage and thus the increase of album version! Forgot the obvious reason

I hate Lady GaGa but it's brilliant imo!
