October 24, 201212 yr I loved 'Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree' - But even though it was only released just over 2 years ago that feels like FOREVER now! I really think that if she had managed to get her act together quicker then she could have returned and salvaged some sort of pop career for herself but its been too long now especially if she is on an independent label as they won't have the funds to mass market her again. Also was just looking at some of her chart runs - Forgot how awful they were! - My Wicked Heart: 13-31-44-79 Once: 1-4-8-18-31-44-48-65-77 Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree: 1-7-24-36-46-69-90 However i would love to hear new material from her and her to come back and smash it but at the moment it looks like neither will happen!
October 24, 201212 yr Once sold over 200,000 copies so wasnt a total flop and the album has done 120,000 which factoring in was off the back of one single isn really THAT bad! Just wish shed have got her act togev!
October 24, 201212 yr her 1st album has aged really badly. i dont care to listen to any of the songs. music to make boys cry + boy in paris are amazing still. kiss of a bullet is trash. its kylie/rachel stevens bside castoffs from about 6 years ago. ahem. she wont see any success when this is released, if it ever is. leona left it 3 years and is struggling. she smashed first time around. diana flopped so will really struggle. her 1st album was definitely a flop. her label never even recouped half of the costs involved making it. tbwml was such a stupid 2nd single. i cant with diana and her decisions.
October 24, 201212 yr Author I agree with Billy, a single selling over 200k and reaching #1 is a great achievement - something that was unheard of for a 4th placed X Factor finalist at the time. And the album selling around 150k has also been a success of the back of one top 10 single. I think Diana has done really well and its a shame 'My Wicked Heart's promo was all relied upon one single performance as it is such an incredible song. None of Diana's song have aged badly at all for me, they are still all fantastic! SFTTCT is by far my favourite album of all time as every track is still amazing! Still loving the newer tracks too! :wub:

October 28, 201212 yr Author Diana tweeted this yesterday: Just heard a new mix to one of my new songs and its f*cking AWESOME!!!!! Someone replied asking if it was for a completely new song or for a song that she's performed at this year's gigs. And she said its a completely new one! :D We ARE going to get this album, I'm sure - so lets enjoy any snippets of info we do get as it makes the wait all the more exciting!
October 28, 201212 yr u really are dedicated to diana, ryan, even when shes blatently taking the piss out of u. i dont find the wait exciting. i was super excited in february/march when everything lookd promising. i wudnt mind if she would STFU for a while. but all shes done is tease since last october. also, she tweeted a while ago how shes not doing the "normal easy route". how patronisin. cause no other musician is label-less and writes their own stuff. even matt cardle is releasin his 2nd album b4 hers lmfao. hes the prime example of how to pick urself up after label troubles. diana is the opposite.

I'm not the idiot sweet cheeks, that is you. I've seen her twice this year performing songs from the new album and it is dynamite. Whether she sells or not, her new music is brilliant and will be critically acclaimed anyway. And just so it is clear.. Her career got off to a great start but she was let down by RCA Records, as are many other artists. It is a terrible label! Had nothing to do with Diana. If you are not gonna buy it Trollana, none of us care.. least of all Diana! You do not matter. Why not go away and haunt some houses? Kthxbye.

November 1, 201212 yr She has a fantastic chance to make a big comeback. We need artists like DV in the charts. Her musical style has changed since the debut album and she has matured so much too as has her voice. Her first LP did not appeal to everyone but the new material certainly has something for everyone. I dragged a friend along with me to her gig in July and lets just say, she was not keen on Diana Vickers before the show but afterwards... She now loves her! Totally won over. Also, when she was supporting Olly Murs' tour recently and playing alongside Pixie, many people preferred Diana to her and raved about the new songs, particularly ''Boy In Paris'' and that is not even the best we've heard. She could potentially be very successful.

November 2, 201212 yr yeah I agree. if she could somehow get her name back out there again before her new music is out, then that'd help. if the film that she's in turns out to be popular then that'd be great promo for her! otherwise, I'm not expecting much success. although as long as we actually end up getting this album, that'd be enough for me.
