November 22, 201113 yr At least we've got another album and tour out of them. Sophie Ellis Bextor is still with Fascination and she doesn't have major chart success anymore so maybe Fascination might keep the girls on? But then I guess because the girls are more commercial currently I don't know. The fans clearly enjoy their music though, it's just they don't seem to connect with the wider public and I have no idea how they can change that... I don't think the girls will ever be huge in the UK though. Meh, what will be will be. Pretty sad how much this has messed up my mood and day now though! Lol. First Pixie flops, now The Sats look set to follow - who next! Edited November 22, 201113 yr by Encore
November 22, 201113 yr For me 'Notorious' and 'All Fired Up' are still the strongest tracks, only MHTO is debatable for me. There are ALWAYS talks about 'wrong' singles after this or that album underperforms. But I can guarantee you that the album wouldn't do much better even if they originally released 'We Found Love' under their name, and 'All Fired Up' would most probably storming worldwide charts if released by Rihanna. As I stated several times, the lack of Sats' success is not down to the quality of their music. Is it unfair? Yes. But this is how music world works unfortunately. In this day and age marketing >>> quality. UPD: Encore, Sophie Ellis-Bextor is not with Fascination, she released her last album by setting her own label. Edited November 22, 201113 yr by Arrs

I know she used to be but didn't know that so just assumed she was still with them. Thanks. :) Who do Fascination even have on their roster at the moment? Just The Sats? November 22, 201113 yr The Saturday's could only blame themselves, they should have not released notorious on air/on sale in which could have been their first number one. All fired up could have also been number had red or black not been on itv or they got a slot. My heart takes over has just flopped, they have poor airplay and that's cost them. I just think they have has poor promotion as they never perform on the big shows just all the small minor shows!
November 22, 201113 yr I believe this really is it for them now unfortunately, which does sadden me. I'm buying a copy of this album today, I know one copy won't make any difference but they do deserve better and it's a decent pop album.
November 22, 201113 yr I just think they have has poor promotion as they never perform on the big shows just all the small minor shows! So you think that they are not performing on The X-Factor because they don't want to?

I'm buying a copy of this album today, I know one copy won't make any difference but they do deserve better and it's a decent pop album. Yeah, I'm starting to agree now. Seems like the only realistic outcome because they'll never climb back up the chart this week. They won't come back from this, I guess the public have bored of them now. I'd say beginning of 2012/few months after the tour it'll be the end...? Girls Aloud will never get back together full time, Sugababes are over, Parade didn't even chart in the top 100 with their album... so I guess The Sats will be handing the girlband title over to Little Mix... I don't think even putting out a Greatest Hits next year will help. We'll see though but it's not looking good, I can't see this having longevity or good sales further down the line either. I doubt Fascination will want to keep injecting money, time and effort into their campaigns if they're not going to do well to start with so I can't see any future plans ever coming to fruition - like Rochelle saying in an interview last week they're putting out their 5th album next year. :( But we'll see, things could smoothen out a bit but I can't see it sadly. It's sad to see hard work from the girls, management etc all come to nothing. I know it's only Tuesday, but they'll only slide further down the chart as usual. Really thought this album would be their big hit. The girls themselves must be gutted too and wondering if this is it now because their #16 chart position today must be with the frontloaded sales included!? :( They've achieved a fair bit though, and to potentially end their career with an arena tour (if they do decide to call it a day) isn't a bad way to go, and ending with an album that's up there as one of their best too. Glad I got tickets now just in case it is the last chance to see them live! The thought of The Sats no longer being together and releasing music is a horrible one though. Really do think this is the end now if things continue the way they are. I'm not sure if they can resurrect themselves and claw their way back anymore. It's like they've hit a brick wall since Notorious, and they keep trying to break the wall down but it never does. Edited November 22, 201113 yr by Encore
November 22, 201113 yr If this album does turn out to be their last, it's a hell of a way to go out. I reckon they'll throw Faster out with a cheap video and see if it manages anything. The album's only £6.99 on Amazon so I'm going to buy it now (and it's up to 57 on their chart now).
November 22, 201113 yr Author At the end of the day, this whole era has under-performed because one minute their sexy Saturdays, next their ballad singers, next they're having a rave. It just doesn't work (for them anyway). Fascination Management can't afford to loose The Saturdays as they're the only mainstream artist they have on their roster. The exec of Polydor however is leaving at the end of the year, so he/she may not want to keep them on Polydor. It's silly blaming TV shows and their management because at the end of the day, they work f***ing hard. They can't help if the public don't buy into them. What they need now is a good single off the album to sell it. They'll be bringing out the next single next month no doubt. The Saturday's could only blame themselves, they should have not released notorious on air/on sale in which could have been their first number one. All fired up could have also been number had red or black not been on itv or they got a slot. My heart takes over has just flopped, they have poor airplay and that's cost them. I just think they have has poor promotion as they never perform on the big shows just all the small minor shows! What a load of rubbish. They released 'Notorious' on air/on sale because they have a strong fan-base, and it got them a Top 10. Polydor had faith in them as at the time on air/on sale was quite the 'in thing' to do, and that was decided before most of the on air/on sale releases where dropping like stones. They didn't just go "We'll do on air/on sale for the fun of it". ITV has nothing to do with 'All Fired Up' missing the #1 spot. It's nothing about "big TV shows giving The Saturdays a chance" because their track record is hardly gleaming. They're going to give their performance slots to more established artists who can sell records in large bulk. It draws more viewers in to the TV show. 'My Heart Takes Over' is flopping due to the lack of radio support like you mention, but their promotion has been good. Alan Carr, Children In Need, Lose Women, Daybreak.. what more can they realistically do? Apart from Daybreak, I'd hardly call them shows "small". It's unfortunate that they where bumbed twice for Xfactor and Xtra Factor by a past contestant, but she's going to pull more viewers in than The Saturdays would unfortauntely.
November 22, 201113 yr Pretty gutted about this really! I never expected it to be huge but expected it to be a bit higher! I suppose they COULD (not holding any hope) release an excellent next single, get lots of airplay and promote everywhere and pull a Chasing Lights out of the bag, as in the album peaks after the single after release, it's not impossible but pretty unlikely, Nicki Minaj did it as well!!! If this doesn't happen then I think it might be the end! Tbh the most annoying thing is that if someone like Rihanna/Katy Perry recorded this album, it would be much much much more successful, but I guess that's just the industry.
November 22, 201113 yr #16 is a bit crap. Whilst I'm by no means as much of a fan of The Saturdays as I was when they started out, it's never nice to see them failing. This for me was always going to be their make or break album, and unless there's a miracle somewhere along the lines, then I don't think the predictions of it being the end for them are too far off frankly.
November 22, 201113 yr I actually think it could climb to about 14 in the mids before dropping back to #16 and ending there officially. Also sales will be slightly higher than last week due to Rihanna and One Directions albums being big sellers. Michael Bubble isn't going to tail off in sales drastically either. I think #16 with about 22k sales. (But maybe that's more wishful thinking) I can't see them being dropped either. Well not at least until Little Mix record their album (which will still be about another year or so away). Also, how is their tour doing? Have they sold out many dates?
November 22, 201113 yr Maybe a re-release (if things don't change and they don't disband) next year could salvage the era a little? I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here so let's just wait for Sunday. Maybe they get a miracle and it storms up the charts for the rest of the week. :P Edited November 22, 201113 yr by Encore

Have they sold out many dates? Mostly they appear to be having trouble selling out the tiers. Though you can still get a few seats in one of the front blocks in Birmingham (which annoys me greatly as my friend somehow only managed to get us Block 10 seats on the first day of ticket sales, lol -_- )
November 22, 201113 yr I'm so upset that it is #16 in the midweeks. Such a great album, which deserves at least Top 10 People are saying this might be the beginning of the end, but I can't actually think of a world without The Saturdays, I would be actually distraught and would most probably cry. They are the first proper band that I have followed and supported intensely with every single and album releases (Girls Aloud were/are another, but I don't think as much as The Sats) and to think of a world without my favourite band is one I don't want to comprehend.
November 22, 201113 yr Bit dramatic? :P It'll be sad, but the world will keep on turning. I predicted #14 a few days ago, so #16 hasn't come as a great surprise. It's all a bit embarrassing considering they've got 5 individual covers, a deluxe box, a cheap £6.99 standard album, and preceded by three singles. There was clearly a reasonably high level of confidence from the label that this album would do the business for them. However, it's spectacularly failing. If they actually do survive this era and are given another chance, they're seriously the "luckiest" girl group ever. In the 90s, a label would have said goodbye to them after Wordshaker, I'm sure.
November 22, 201113 yr i'm actually glad that they are flopping, whole OYR promo is awful notorious could have been their first #1 single all fired up, too than they released their worst song to date with bad promo and album is out, and what are they doing? NOTHING they thought they could sell one their name which they don't have. RIP Edited November 22, 201113 yr by mr. everything
November 22, 201113 yr Such a shame :( But a couple of months ago, 20k would have got them another top 10! It's just what happens in the Christmas rush - I got my deluxe fan edition today, so my first proper run through the album and so far it's great as expected so far with Get Ready, Get Set coming up next!
November 22, 201113 yr I doubt it's going to be 'the end', fair enough it's getting of to a bad start but people overreact so people quickly on this forum! Think we should just see how this sells in the long run, plenty of albums debut terribly and climb. Rihanna's Rated R springs to mind, and CL debuted at 11 then re-peaked at 9.
