February 24, 201114 yr Most of them were predictable one hit wonders but never thought that those would be: 2003 - Michael Andrews feat. Gary Jules "Mad World" 2004 - Mario Winans feat. P Diddy & Enya "I Don't Wanna Know" 2006 - Sandi Thom "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker" (follow up reached 22) 2008 - Basshunter feat. DJ Mental Theo's Bazzheadz "Now You're Gone" Kid Rock "All Summer Long" number 1? :o
February 24, 201114 yr Let's be honest, the inclusion of about 50% of these is a bit ridiculous. Yeah, Helping Haiti, where was your follow-up Top 5 hit? Your debut #1 should have built up a large enough profile to build a decades long career on! Love that you haven't crossed out U2 I'd forgotten all about Nizlopi. I hope they made a profitable pub circuit career out of their one hit.
February 24, 201114 yr Chrome has actually had two #1s; his other as the featured artist on Dizzee's 'Holiday'. And I agree with the above poster that it's a bit petty to count charity ensembles as one-hit wonders...
February 24, 201114 yr Author ... forgot to cross out U2, that was a mistake. Of course they're not a one hit wonder. And yes charity ensembles should be included. Have Band Aid 20 had another hit, have X Factor Finalists 2009 had a good career, no, they've never recorded another song together, therefore the collaboration is a one hit wonder even if the artists in it are not one hit wonders (by the way the artists in the ensemble are not officially credited)
February 24, 201114 yr I know Drake hasn't had another Top 20 hit here, but I'd say he's far from a 1 hit wonder
March 7, 201114 yr 2004 - Mario Winans feat. P Diddy & Enya "I Don't Wanna Know" I really don't think it's fair to put Enya on this list, she had a number 1 and some top 10s before this, and has probably sold more albums than Diddy and Mario combined!!

March 8, 201114 yr You have missed off Agnes 'Release Me' ('Need You Now' reached #39 or #40 (can't remember exactly))
March 8, 201114 yr Author You have missed off Agnes 'Release Me' ('Need You Now' reached #39 or #40 (can't remember exactly)) Agnes never reached UK Number 1
March 8, 201114 yr hmm its tough as i know of some artists that have had one big top 10/20 hit (not #1) and no follow ups, but as far as an artist hitting #1, the only one i can think of right now is Diana Vickers...but that might be a bit of a premature call as she has yet to put forth her second album...but as it stands her follow ups, Boy Who Murdered Love and My Wicked Heart, have hit #36 and #13 (i know its top 20 but it fell out of the top 75 after just 3 weeks, hardly a hit) Edited March 8, 201114 yr by Propilot87
March 8, 201114 yr By your own rules at the top of the page Sam & Mark shouldn't be on this list and neither should Room 5 or Mint Royale. I also think counting charity ensembles as one hit wonders is a bit stupid because they're one-off ensembles, not recording artists. Also Drake's second highest peaker is 'Moment 4 Life' which got to #22. And surely it's a bit inconsistent to cross out Tom Jones but not cross out Enya? Just sayin'. March 8, 201114 yr Mint Royale has actually had TWO more top 20 hits. Let's not forget this underrated gem from 2000, a #15 hit at the time (even though everyone already has, except 6Music and Absolute Radio apparently :D)! dlDr4J5Q790 I've always hated this definition of one hit wonder, anyway. I prefer to go by my own judgement. I mean, using this method, Babylon Zoo isn't a 90s one-hit wonder! Right. Can anybody name their other top 20 hit? (well, I can, but that's not the point).
