March 3, 201114 yr I'm surprised it's taken 6 months for 'Forget You!' by Cee Lo Green to become a massive hit in the US. Obviously the Grammies helped but it's the fact Glee Cast made it popular that surprises me the most. It should've been doing well on merit alone 4 months ago. 13 26 08 Adele, Rolling In The Deep 65 NE 01 Adele, Someone Like You 88 NE 01 Adele, Set Fire To The Rain  Let the domination begin. :D
March 3, 201114 yr Hopefully Rolling In The Deep can go top 10 next week, although it's falling a bit on iTunes (down to #5) and its airplay doesn't seem to be picking up very quickly. #13 is still a great peak for her though, considering her nationality and all :kink: Speaking of which, I also have big hopes that Written In The Stars could be a future top 10 hit in the USA - it's making great progress so far (Bubbling Under 17-7, then main H100 91-68) and is also making good progress on iTunes (it's now top 60, whereas it was low top 100 just over a week ago). Obviously the WWE will help it out a lot - hopefully its airplay will be good enough by then for it to go top 10 on the H100 :D But even if it ends up peaking at #68 somehow, that's still a very good peak for a British rapper. March 3, 201114 yr Great chart, except for Wiz Khafila rapidly falling and becoming a 'non-number one' 1-4-10-18 which doesn't normally happen in the US Hopefully WITS can be a top 40 hit at least in the US, RITD can be top 10 next week, FU, Grenade, Tonight & Firework can get away from the top 10 (as they've been in the chart FOREVER)
March 3, 201114 yr Great chart, except for Wiz Khafila rapidly falling and becoming a 'non-number one' 1-4-10-18 which doesn't normally happen in the US Its chart run before getting to #1 was good enough for it to not be a non-#1. I'm pretty sure it only got to #1 because of an extra sales push by Pittsburgh fans because of the Super Bowl, that's the only time it was ever #1 on iTunes, could have just been a coincidence but it fits so perfectly I doubt it was. It was on its way out anyway, but then got a boost to #1. Edited March 3, 201114 yr by Bray
March 3, 201114 yr Awesome for Adele!! Funny that Set Fire to the Rain charted higher in the US than the UK. Does anybody know what she's releasing in the US next? I hope she goes with Someone Like You. Awesome to see Tinie and the Black Eyed Peas climbing!!! :w00t: Hopefully RITD can climb into the top 10 next week. I was also thinking that Black and Yellow has fallen very fast from #1, which is unusual in this chart, but it is on it's 21st week in the chart, to be fair.
March 3, 201114 yr Adele dominating US charts too. #13 is amazing although i wanted it to go top 10! And yes it's official. JLo has her first top 10 Us single after 8 years!!! Last one was All I Have in 2003 (if we exclude Control Myself which was a LL Cool J song)!
March 3, 201114 yr Black & Yellow was uber lucky to reach #1 anyway I do know what you mean, but at the same time, it's still a VERY difficult thing to do, for any artist. It's like when a song gets to #1 in the UK on 50,000 sales, which happens from time to time. The song is lucky for getting a quiet week, but it still takes a LOT of promotion to get that, and that's something most artists in the charts could only dream of getting.
March 4, 201114 yr Apparently the new Britney single is being released to iTunes in the US tomorrow night in the hope of a BTW type storm to #1... Considering BTW sold more in 3 days than HIAM did in a week, I think their plan may fail...
March 4, 201114 yr i neve thought i'd say this, but currently the US top 10 has more pop than the UK top 10, which is great.... amazing to see J.Lo in the top 10 :cheer: after such a long absence, and also Katy Perry with her best song yet 'E.T'.. it deserves number 1 more than 3 her previous songs from 'Teenage Dream'. Grear for Adele and Tinie Tempah too... real british talent is finally being appreciated in the US :yahoo:
March 6, 201114 yr Katy Perry has spent 42 consecutive weeks in Top 10 which is the second best behind Ace of Base's 48 weeks (All That She Wants, The Sign, Don't Turn Around). Mariah Carey and Santana also reached 42 weeks
March 6, 201114 yr Apparently the new Britney single is being released to iTunes in the US tomorrow night in the hope of a BTW type storm to #1... Considering BTW sold more in 3 days than HIAM did in a week, I think their plan may fail... Of course, it didn't have near as much the hype as BTW or HIAM had. It was smart though because the loss of sales would have been alot if they had waited until the 11th.
