I think 'Tonight' is a solid single choice, but whether it is or isn't nothing is gonna do well anyway. For this album to be saved she would need a HUGE top 5 hit, something that will never happen.

I think this album is a more solid effort than Overcome, in the sense that it's not so all over the place. It doesn't have a 'Bad Boys', 'Broken Heels', 'All Night Long' or 'The Silence' going for it but it's solid dance-pop. I think it would've sounded more impressive if the genre wasn't so prevalent, but for what it is it's pretty at the top of its game.

It's shocking that the album will miss the top 20 and I guess struggle to sell 20k in total, prior to this week I was thinking it'd probably do on or around 50k in total which in itself is still a HUGE disaster. I still maintain that 'Let It Go' deserved way better than it got, it's excellent. :(

Agree with everything you just said!

Agree with all this, in fact just a month ago I really thought 'oh it could do 100k actually' because Elephant held up OK comapred to the 3-18-25-40-67-OUT disaster we expected, but then Let It Go BOMBED and I thought 'oh, 50k at best then'. But being #18 in the midweeks means it will obviously miss top 20 and probably sell something awful like 15k overall, there's just no justifying it :( THE single most embarrasing flop since I've been the following the chart actually I'd say...

Totally agreed on Let It Go as well, it's a fantastic! Although I can see why it didn't catch on, it's better than Elephant imo and with airplay it could've done better :( It's easily in my HOH top 3, not that it's too hard to be better than shit like Fire and This Love Will Survive.

At my local Morrisons, the album was #4 on ther chart.............but obviously 'meaningless' plays a role here....

I am actually really enjoying this album, sad to see that its flopping :(

Top 5

Fire

Oh La La

Beating Still

Let It Go

Sitting On Top Of The World

This was ALWAYS going to flop. The lead single was called ELEPHANT for christ's sake.

It was a stupid choice of direction, Europop is suited to one off singles in the UK and has literally NEVER translated into decent album sales. She should have left these tracks to some faceless dance act and stuck to something that was actually even slightly soulful - THAT is the side of her voice that excels and she needs to remember that pronto.

It is a very weak album which is such a shame as she is the best artist to come out of The X Factor. She is capable of so much more, as was proved with her debut. The market is flooded with dance at the moment, if she wanted to stand out she should've stuck to songs like 'Bad Boys' and 'Start Without You'.
I was a bit dubious on getting this album after listening to the sampler the other week but it didn't do it justice, I'm really enjoying the album 'Fire' needs releasing and 'Between The Sheets' both stand out as well as 'Oh La La', I also really like 'Daylight Robbery' and 'Sitting On Top Of The World'

My top 5 is easily

01 Between The Sheets

02 Oh La La

03 Let It Go

04 Fire

05 Tonight

The more I listen to this album the more angry I get at how badly its selling, I do not see why it can't even manage top 20, it should be top 10 for christ sake! Its a solid pop album and only gets better with each listen
Listened to my copy last night, it's a fab album, really. Standout songs are Oh La La and Sitting On Top Of The World, plus the title track.
Can you imagine if she falls out of the top 40 next sunday after being released 1 week ago with sales generally very poor..Im still in shock as to how badly this has done..hope her management stick by her

I thought I'd listen to the previews on iTunes earlier and most of tracks just seemed to merge into each other so the tracks don't create their own identity (which might explain why 'Start Without You' was a popular track).

The album track that stood out the most was the DJ Smash song - can't rememeber its name now. Also the tracklist order is a bit all over the place. There's a piano ballad towards the end (although I thought Alex sounded strained in the chorus and should've sang the song in a lower key) which really should've been the closing track with the acoustic tracks just before it.

#18 what a disaster. Feel sorry for her, must be hard to see that. Out of top 40 next week most probably, or scrape another week top 40, wonder how much it'll sell.

Absolutely loving the piano version of HOH.
