Oh and if anyone cares, for an eighth week in a row there's nothing to knock 21 off #1 on iTunes. The Vaccines are at #2 with their début 'What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?'. The View are at #7 with 'Bread And Circuses' and The Naked And Famous are #11 with 'Passive Me, Aggressive You'. 19 is still top 10 also :D

Yeah, I'd love to see Alexandra have success in the US, I think she wants to, but as you said, I think she's either getting no support from the people she works with, or she simply feels she's not ready yet. I think All Night Long would be strong enough to make a mark in the US, but I'm not sure about any of her other songs. Start Without You would definitely get her noticed. I love the song, but I think it might be too marmite for a lead single. And of course, she could record some new material. Hopefully her working with Flo Rida, Pitbull and RedOne, all of who are massive in the US, would have already got her a little bit of attention.

 

I always wonder though, don't people in other countries ever look at the discography of, say, Flo Rida, and see the British songs that they don't know (like Bad Boys and Higher), and think "Hmm, maybe I should check them out?". I would've thought people would do that, but I don't get the impression many people have done that tbh. :(

Ooh Jessie J performed live on a French show like one minute ago ! It's weird to see a "Sound of" winner going global so quickly ! :o

 

I think it can be a good strategy to get UK based artists releasing music in other countries whilst they're still riding high in the UK charts with the same tracks. Reason being the rise of the internet - people can simply watch/listen to new music on YouTube regardless of which country they live in (unless the video is blocked by UMG!!! :rolleyes: ). So for eg; why wait six months to release 'Price Tag' in France when people in France are probably watching the video right now on YouTube.

Yeah, me too! :D Although the Cahill version should be top 50, rather than top 500. :( It's really good! I remember the Cahill version of Missing You by The Saturdays went top 50, I think, but that got loads of airplay. Radio 1 seemed to play it more than the original! :o

 

The 7th Heaven Mix of Dont Hold Your Breath is 100x better than the Bimbo Jones and Cahill mixes. Unfortunately the 7th Heaven mix is only being used for release in the U.S. What a waste of a good mix! 7th Heaven never fail to impress.

Btw, The Saturdays - Higher is getting released in Germany next month, they'll be promoting there for a while... looks like there doing the same as Jessie J, should have did this much sooner though!

 

I think promoting in other countries always helps sales in UK... Look at Shakira - Waka Waka despite a horribile peak the sales and chart run was actually good.

 

Regarding Parade i think they will drop of soon, this song is alright but dosen't deserve a top #07 peak :|
