Possibly. I remember Alors on danse got to like #22 or something when it was Scott Mills's record of the week! So it can help. I think those songs are in similar situations. At the time when Scott Mills was playing Alors on danse, he must've been literally the only person playing the song on the radio in the country!

'Alors On Danse', 'On The Floor', 'Sweat'. Scott Mills is clearly on the ball when it comes to big European hit singles. Shame we don't have more DJ's like him making the UK aware of the big European hits.

I agree tbh. I get really jealous when I see some the charts in some of the other countries in Europe (apart from France :drama:). It's annoying when a song gets massive all over Europe and then struggles to make a dent in the UK charts (e.g. Waka Waka).

True. Although I always wondered what if they released their 3rd singles 1st. Like the other day I was imagining if they released One Shot as their first ever single. Everybody would've been like "Wow! :o", I reckon.

I can assure you most people would not be saying WOW to any JLS single, doesn't matter what one it is.

I certainly would've said "Wow!" if they released One Shot as their first single! :D I was expecting them to be releasing songs like Baby and Poker Face. One Shot sounded like Calvin Harris-lite. I was pretty impressed when I heard it for the first time tbh! :o

Although it can be good to save the better ones for later. Like you said, it can give the album more consistency, and it probably looks better for an artist if their songs are getting progressively better, than progressively worse, even though it shouldn't really matter since it's the same songs.

I think Beat Again really launched them though, which I'm not sure One Shot would have done

They were originally due to release Mary as a debut single

, which would have been a disaster waiting to happen

Wow, Mary is quite nice imo. :) But yeah, I agree with you. It was exactly what people were expecting from them, and people probably would've made fun of them if they released that, especially as their lead. I mean, they even got quite abit of hate for Everybody in Love, for it being too cheesy, etc. (although I liked that song too. Infact, the only JLS song I've really hated it Love You More).

Just saw on the iTunes homepage that theres a Comic Relief section where you can buy music from Adele, Elbow, Take That, The Wanted and JLS. Are they the only performers ?

Yeh I really like Mary, but it really wouldn't have worked as a debut single. Wierd that it didn't even make the album after being considered good enough to be a debut single

Fans made petitions for it to be released before it was added as a B-side for One Shot

Suprised didnt think nicole wud get a no 1

Just seen the us itunes to wow glee has 6 song in top10 3 off which are #1 2 and 3

Was it one of those cases where they go in an interview "Oh, we had a song called "so-and-so", but we didn't decide to release it in the end", and then you sit there for months thinking, "I really want to hear that song!!". I HATE it when that happens. When your favourite artists talk about a song and you never get to hear it. It's so frustrating. :drama:

Yeah, it's crazy isn't it!! :o That sort of thing isn't unusual with Glee in the US though. I think Glee do so much worse in the UK simply because we're so far behind now. Unlike with before, most people will just be watching the episodes and getting the songs at US pace. By the time it gets to the UK, it's like "Right, well what else is new?".

Wiz Khalifa  4

Jessie J  5

Wiz showing some longevity :D

Really hope this stays around for a while. Will make up for it not going to #1

 No

They performed it when they were supporting Lemar on tour and then we never really heard anything about it for a while

The demo was uploaded on youtube after it finally made it as a B-Side

& the description says "Was due to be JLS' debut single and was to be released May 25th 2009..."

I don't think Nicole will be number 1 now - Adele is will likely overtake her tomorrow, and with the Comic Relief performance, she'll likely sell more than her this week. If the Wanted get a big enough boost, Nicole could do a Saturdays :(.

I have one thing to say to that.. YEAH RIGHTT!!

Well, I'm glad to see Wiz isn't plummetting.

Yeah! :D If it wasn't for the new entries, he'd actually be climbing!! He's overtaken Rihanna in the past few days.

EDIT: It's overtaken Jessie J too! :o He might overtake The Wanted soon too, although they don't seem to be falling as fast as I was expecting them to.

Why not her lead is big?

Nicole is likely to stay at #1 this week, but Adele will probably climb back next week.. Unless there are any big contenders being released on Sunday ?
