I'm dissapointed in the sales as their video & airplay most likely went up and they dropped that amount of places.

Notorious  25 on Itunes  3 places.

21 Nicki Minaj Super Bass 19.9&

22 Swedish House Mafia Save the World (Radio Mix) 17.9%

23 Jennifer Lopez On the Floor (Radio Edit) 16.4%

24 David Guetta Where Them Girls At (feat. Nicki Minaj & Flo Rida) 16.2%

25 The Saturdays Notorious 15.3%

26 ADELE Someone Like You 15.2%

27 Chris Brown Yeah 3X 15.1%

I doubt they have much chance of re-entering the top 20 this week, a 4.7% gap is quite hard but unless they increase majorly. Nicola Roberts is also starting to fall so here's hoping that they overtake her asap.

God. They're being completely lost under the amount of new songs being released. I wouldn't be suprise if it drops out of the top 40 this week (on iTunes).

im giving up on hoping for them now. its not worth it, they dont seem to try at all
I really think they're starting to believe their own hype.

I think after Work underperforming, Forever Is Over bombing, Wordshaker being an embarrasment, Ego missing it's potential, Missing You making them look like idiots, Higher only being a 'minor' hit and Headlines barely scraping album sales I think The Sats feel they can survive anything now. I mean, when was the last time they/the fans actually CELEBRATED (besides 'OMGZ HIGHER MADE THE TOP TEN!!)?

They're getting decent peaks everywhere, and sales aren't terrible so I think that they're just assuming they're going to survive each era no matter how poorly they sell.

I still think everyone is overreacting. Yes, they're not doing well at the moment but it's really not the end, since tomorrow they're on the B-list on Radio 1, TV airplay should be steady... And later they will promote the song. Let's wait at least until July to make the judgement about the song success.

Work actually did well! It was a 4th single from a 300,000 selling album and ended up selling over 105,000sales. However I do agree their promotion should have had a better peak. They also messed it up and dropped it for Just Cant Get Enough. Forever is Over did bomb majorly and I can't believe it only did sell 150,000, however the single was below par. Wordshaker was an embarassment I agree but 80,000 sales really isin't as bad as what we make out as bigger artists struggle to make 50,00 sales ala Avril Lavigne, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Chipmunk etc. Ego didin't really miss the potential it's sold over 315,000 had it been the lead single it may have sold around 350,000 so I can only agree to a certian extent there. How on earth did Missing You make The Saturdays look like idiots... it sold over 205,000 sales and helped Headlines debut on 22,000 higher than other album sales. Higher also missed the potentinal they had and it's not even hit 290,000sales.

I agree I think they always think their safe, truth is Their on a awful label in which they should be attempting to leave and sign onto a better label in which they can actually get better promotion. Their promotion campaigns are always a mess and should be handled better. Saturdays would never benefit from an On Air thing. Had Saturdays been promoting this I think Notorious would have been on 100,000 already.

The album hadn't sold 300,000 when 'Work' was released. It didn't pass 300K until late 2009 (after Wordshaker was released). That's me just being pedantic, but still. It did okay but it did nothing except ruin their top ten streak and all their live performances of it were pretty bad (T4 On The Beach). It was wasted as a single.

80K is still really bad. Acts like Avil, Miley and Selena get away with flopping in the UK because they do well elsewhere (Avril is huge in Japan and sells worldwide, the other two have TV shows and release worldwide) and Chipmunk's album would never do well considering he's a rapper. 80K for a mainstream girlband with Dancing On Ice/Paul O'Grady performances plus tons of media exposure, two singles, a price cut and one of the contestants on a reality TV show is still terrible.

Ego did well, but it could have POTENTIALLY been much bigger. I'm not underplaying it's success because it sold alot and had a good chart run but considering the video and song, it should easily have been a top three hit and sold at least 400K. It seems like artists can release any song and it'll sell tons, but with The Sats they only ever get success with their very, very best (and even then the success isn't as good as it should be).

Missing You got TONS of promotion. And I mean, tons. They were everywhere. That week the whole UK chart fans were focused on The Sats, they were the most talked about and publicised artists that week and even after spamming Twitter and Facebook, releasing remixes/acoustics and begging fans to download it the song didn't even go to #1 and struggled for 200K.

Higher is another Ego situation. Deserved so much, yet just had 'good' sales. Fantastic song and it was a fight for a top ten position.

I'm a huge fan of The Sats but i'm just saying that their chart performances/sales aren't reflective of how good their quality is. They should be huge but they just seem to miss opportunities and 'almost' everything. :(

I seriously don't know why they have held back the physical release so long, by the time it comes around it is going to be pointless to even bother with it. With the chart run so far being {8}-21 and probably gonna drop to at the very least 29 next Sunday, I am really not sure if the plan is to turn this around or just pretend it never happened. It's all gone a bit Long Hot Summer on us. So hopfully the next single will be something amazing and Biology ish :P
I think another song we can compare this too right now would TEOG by Lady Gaga. Both managed to get mid to low places in the top 10 on their initial releases and now both seem to be falling while the airplay builds. The Sat's have an advantage with their video already being out but both will rise once they start promoting. But looking at iTunes I'd rather they started sooner then later

Shaddow is right Lee. I'm a massive Saturdays fan, but even I can see their flaws. There's no point sugacoating everything - some things like Missing You being #1 for 2wks on the Airplay chart were worth celebrating, but at the same time there are pros and cons with everything The Sats do, and unfortunately most of the time its the cons that stick out the most which is why people are so negative towards them when they release music in the UK.

Putting aside their past 'mishaps' (and there's quite a few), imagine Notorious as a fresh start. It's too early to judge how this going to perform in the long-run, and we wont know for some time, possibly up untill the physical release which is a whole 3wks away yet. I'd love to be their manager for a whole era and plan everything start to finnish. They're doing on air/on sale so this can be expected - but this is either going to do moderately well, or be a complete embaressment, and right now I'm going for the latter option.

Even though the promotion is up to their management to sort out, the girls appear extremely laid back. They don't show a real love for Notorious, it comes across. They just don't seem bothered nor committed to this single. I don't know what it is about this group but it's been said before, and something is missing. I've described them as the 'pasta topping' on a Lazagne but without the meat. The meat is missing.

I agree with everything you said. It's hard work for being a Saturdays fan and you described it perfect last week " a bus that never comes". Missing You as Shadow said had the best promotion of last year and it again missed out on number one after multiple copies put out there in order to get them number one.

I agree the girls don't seem committed and I do believe they are believing their own hype and unless the start showing they want to do well and get number ones and brilliant sales they need to prove it and not just thanking people on twitter. Notorious 47k sales and should be on around 60,00sales next week. Their video play is already dropping. They should be doing so much more. It's frustrating.

As you said being a Saturdays fan the only thing we had to cheer about was a radio airplay number one, yet the single still didin't go to number one. All we have to hope now is with the B list getting put into full effect this week they can majorly climb up the chart and I hope they can enter A-List for at least another 2weeks. Seems like we're all starting to lose faith.

Well, you wouldn't say that watching Una during the last uStream session...

Una and Rochelle seem like the only ones to actually care about their careers now. You can always, always see Una trying really hard with the dancing even though she's not a natural dancer, you can tell she always tries really hard with the vocals and she's seemingly always in the studio writing songs. Rochelle is another one, always very consistant and her and Una seem like the only ones who have an enthusiasm about their releases and want them to do well.

Mollie is fantastic but she could try harder in the band. She's a good dancer but half the time she just seems like she's only giving it 70% instead of 100%. The 'Higher' and 'Up' dance routines in particular, you could tell she would be so much better if she pushed herself. She seems to just love the "celebrity" side of everything (photoshoots, paparazzi, meeting fans, doing the flips, signings, wearing the pretty clothes and looking good) but as for actual taking the time to strengthen her vocals and dancing, she just seems like she cba because she knows she's not vocally the strongest and is instead just opting to be the "personality" of the band.

Frankie tries really hard with the dancing, and is fantastic at it and seems to be working on her vocals but again, she just seems like she cba most of the time. She only seems excited when the band are doing well, and going by various flips/24/7 etc she seems like she can't be bothered to make an effort during choreography and sound checks.

Vanessa seems like she just wants to sing, which is fair enough. She loves the being on stage part but I don't know, half the time she seems pretty uncomfortable with the "celebrity" side of things and I can't remember her ever being enthusiastic about anything.

It's a shame because they've got so much potential, and they're simply not trying hard enough.
