I love all the Saturday Sigs!

103,000 views on Youtube now! Hopefully by sunday it reaches 300,000.

I'm suprised the Saturdays are already at #24 they showed have promoted on a show at least yesterday, i assume it's not had anything really at least we have a few days to hear the single etc... If it debuts in top 10 then wow!

I just hope this era does as well as/even better than Chasing Lights, we are definately getting two singles before the album, mabye even 3? :o now to November is a big gap to fill, If they release 3 before the album, then hopefully we get two after aswell.

The good thing about this is that Notorious and the second single can make new buyers to buy their previous albums like Headlines.

Lew, I was thinking we would be getting three singles as now to November really is a long time. August would be perfect for the second single and Novemeber perfect for third single.

 

However The Saturdays will be promoting Europe so maybe that's why there is a massive gap.

 

The good thing about this is that Notorious and the second single can make new buyers to buy their previous albums like Headlines.

 

Yeah I do expect Headlines to push pass 180k Sales now and re-enter the top 200 soon.

You know, despite my lukewarm reception to this to start with it really is growing on me. Or maybe it's just the effect having to listen to a Parade song has on me. Who knows.

Circa 2010, The Saturdays were best known for their multicoloured tights, skyscraper stilettos and, best of all, coining the phrase "mini-album". Now two (and a half) albums in, the time is ripe to show that they're more than a throwaway pop group and prove they're able to step into the more sophisticated footwear of the Sugababes and Girls Aloud. Question is, does 'Notorious' fulfil all the necessary criteria?

 

"I'm a big boss, I'm a gangster/ On the dancefloor," Mollie announces on the squeaky, Auto-Tuned intro, before dropping a high-wired, club-pumping beat the Black Eyed Peas would cock a snook at. "I'm a bad girl, I'm notorious" insists Rochelle, while a storm of synths, strings and techno beeps brews behind them. The result isn't quite as instant as the lyrics would suggest, but there's no doubting they talk a good game 4/5 Stars.

The first half of the song (the ahh-ah-ahhh's are FANTASTIC and very, very stand out :D the first chous is pretty good, and Rochelle/Vanessa both have decent verses) and first half of the video (the clock watching/pen/tapping/silent shot of the Sats in the lift, the Up tribute, the lift scenes in general) are all PERFECT....

 

However the second half of the song (lack of growth in the second and third chorus, after Frankie's bit the whole song turns into an autuned chipmunk mess) and video (office scenes >>>>>> club scenes) really lets the whole thing down. :(

 

Could have been perfect, ends up at just "pretty good".
