I don't know, I personally buy albums based on how good they are rather than the vocal ability of the person behind them.

Well we all have but the song (Call my Name is all I have to base it on) is so weak as well. At least in my opinion. And so is the voice even with all the help.

Well I do disagree about the song. And the voice being brought up again. As long as you have a pleasant tone I don't care how shit you are live, and I think Cheryl has a pleasant tone.

That's fair enough. I just find it hard to compute that people can have an admiration for someone who is just a fake. I can understand liking or even loving a song by someone with not the strongest voice. I like a lot of Britney's stuff for example and we know she'a not the best live singer . But with Cheryl it's just weak all round for me. I think it would bother me if an artist I liked was terrible live when I went to see them. In fact it did, when I saw Whitney years back. I just came out thinking she wasn't the superstar I thought she was.

I'm not a fan of either artist but I've seen a documentary of Justin singing in the studio and he's pretty good. Or at least can sound like his records.

LOL, you've not seen any of his live performances clearly.

The initial comment I made wasn't meant to turn this into Justin v Cheryl. It was more a general point as the poster made a comment about "crazed fans coming home from school" which seemed to demean Justin Bieber's fans taste because they were young. I was just trying to say despite that they are at least following someone who can sing, so it seemed a bit rich demeaning them given Cheryl's limited "talents".

I don't think we can judge whether Cheryl is talented or not until we actually work with her during her album recording process. She writes music, is probably the best dancer in the UK and I think she does a br of producing. Her vocal may be weak and easily off pitching but hey I still like her music. :)
