Her iTunes Festival EP is the third highest on iTunes even though it's 4 years older than the rest in the chart :o Only being beaten by Foo Fighters and Adele.

Since her first album debuted in Nov'03, then shouldn't that be just over 7.5 years?

Is BTB in stock in stores?

No, because she hasn't done anything in the music business since 2008. Although she's recorded a duet with Tony Bennett for his upcoming album, out on the 20th of September. If there's still 'hype' (wrong word) about Amy's death in 2 months' time it could easily become his second top 10 hit... 56 years after his first, when 'Stranger In Paradise' got to #1 in 1955 :o

So the Back To Black & Frank package will add sales to both BTB and Frank individually right?

No, it'll probably chart on its own. It's acting as a 'box set' of 2 albums.

The two versions of Back To Black might chart separately, they did on their original chart runs. Michael Bublé's Call Me Irresponsible and Call Me Irresponsible - Special Edition were both top 100 in the same week twice last year so the same could happen here. If so I hope that won't affect her chances of returning to #1...

The third version of BTB was probably there before but this is the first time I've noticed it in the feed.

Is BTB in stock in stores?

I'd say if it was it'll sell out quickly and same for Frank. They'll urgently need to re-supply.

BTW, it is just me, or do the rest of you also find it disturbing/morbid that most people seem to be downloading 'Back To Black' as a tribute, given the subject matter?

No, it isn't just you.

Also, pity so many rush now to buy her album, because she died - horrible. :( Where were they when she released, had concerts and later, when she was troubled? Where was the help? She should have been an even bigger star in her heydays. People rushing now seem like the bugs helping the vultures (record label) pick the 'carcass' clean. I'm sure the buying public intentions are clean but .. MEH ... it's disturbing for me , money again....

She would've been launching her 3rd album soon...

RIP , Amy

'Back To Black (Deluxe Edition)' back down to #5, with '4' back to #4 :(

'Frank' is up to #6 though :D

WTF are you on about? The album has sold 3 million here and 10 million worldwide. How much bigger could you GET? :drama:

theres no big albums out until the end of august...amy will be there for 2 weeks and adele again in the middle of next month before the chilli peppers or something get a new entry!!

As much as I love the album, I'm surprised B2B is doing so well, afterall, it's already sold 3 million copies in the UK :o and it was the 3rd biggest album of the decade.

Is there any talk of the 'unreleased' material (assuming there was any) making it to market?

As Bre said WTF are you actually on about? Sorry but I just dont get it. So you're complaining that people are buying her album now? Who are you to say what people's motives are for buying an album, 'Oh its because she's died' How narrow minded do you want to be? Her music is being played all over music channels, and news when they cover her death, she is now in the limelight for such a sad reason but this gives her music even more exposure. When it was out it sold MILLIONS she had her fans, and was a huge success. Her album is selling so well because people who may not have bought the album when it was out now like the music, or are being reminded of some of the songs and thinking i'd like that album actually. I just dont understand some people's bitterness regarding this. -_-

Anyway, I for one think its nice to see her music getting such a great repsonce ONCE AGAIN.

2. Now That's What I Call Music!, Vol. 79 - Various Artists

:D I'm sure Now 79 will overtake later today but it's great to see Amy holding it off for now. (I wonder why they've changed the naming convention anyway? It should be called 'Now That's What I Call Music! 79')

The rest of the top 10:

3. Frank & Back to Black - Amy Winehouse

4. 21 - ADELE

5. 4 - Beyoncé

6. Back to Black (Deluxe Edition) - Amy Winehouse

7. Frank - Amy Winehouse

8. Science & Faith - The Script

10. One More Love - David Guetta

Ah well, Back To Black is still the highest artist album I guess :P

Agreed. I find the whole thing rather grisly to be honest. You could have all the promo you wanted for her back catalogue when she was alive and nobody would've noticed. The moment she's dead people suddenly discover they need a copy of 'Back to Black'. They've had quite a few years now to buy it, the music hasn't changed so why wait until she's dead to do it?

It's not a new phenomenon of course. The 'dead pop star' effect happened with Elvis and John lennon too.
