March 23, 201115 yr What an embarrassing flop for Peter Kay/Comic Relief/the Now compilers who saw fit to make sure it was included on the new compilation :lol: The most shocking underperformance (for me personally) for a charity single since either Idols - Happy Xmas (War Is Over) - at least I think that was for charity, or when a cover of It's Only Rock & Roll by a load of artists popular at the time in 1999 limped into the low top 20.
March 23, 201115 yr I'm not sick of Adele. Quite the countary- I'm pleased that genuine talent is being recongised. And she deserves all the hype she gets, because quite frankly she is amazing. Yes she is great - like Duffy. Interestingly, Shakira did the opposite of Adele. 1 week at #1, and then later returned for 4 weeks. Adele will have had 4 and then return for 1. The last song to return to #1 having previously spent more than one week there beforehand was probably Eric Prydz with Call On Me in 2005 which had a stint of 3 weeks and then a stint of 2 weeks at #1.

Jack, if your judging Adele on other people's descriptions and views on her then that isnt really fair is it, judge her, or any artist for that matter, on their music and their talent, not how others percieve them or describe them as, that shouldnt come in to it or even change your opinion, and neither should there success whether they are doing extremely well or extremly badly. The thing is that Duffy is a one album wonder while Adele has already succeeded that and how she did it!
March 23, 201115 yr People always say after a big album, oh they're going to flop on the next one, you cant tell future, and you cannot judge how good the material is going to be on the next album, difference with Adele is she has had two massive albums, whereas Duffy only one, completely different.
