Yeah, it's ridiculous. I just can't understand it tbh. It's not the standard "I don't really like RnB singers" vibe, it's full on. He's really talented. Plus, he makes the most innoffensive songs and they're still hated (apart from Just Dance and Mirrors).

And, no, it's not because it's not sung by a female... it's because of the nausea inducing chorus. I don't get how people can not see how it could be annoying to some!

There's nothing wrong with the chorus! Are you talking about the chipmunk singing the sample? :lol: I think it's adorable.

 

Well, clearly they all thought it was really good, because they wouldn't have released it otherwize. And I guess we all thought it was really good, because it was one of the biggest songs of the year!! :)

He does make decent music. Have you not heard songs like Smack That, Club Certified, I Wanna Love You, The Sweet Escape, etc?

Akon's voice is horribly nasal.

 

Most of the time anyway. It's less noticeable on some songs (most notably Sexy Bitch)

Akon's voice is grating and his songs are generic crap imo, I can see exactly why a lot of people dislike him

But I don't know, it just seems whatever is attached to his name goes out in the first few rounds. And the only generic-ish one out of those was Don't Matter.

Yes I've heard a lot of his music, but I'm not a fan of his voice at all. If I ever do like any Akon songs, it's usually the guest vocalist that I'm enjoying, as opposed to him.

His voice? It seems fine to me (obviously). I don't find it annoying, or nasal, or whatever, at all. Although I can't actually think of any artists whose voice annoys me, off the top of my head.
