November 23, 20159 yr Author MIRROR TALK - 1/M/T Quintessa go into unseen territory with their fourth qualifier in a row, 1/M/T is very 80s inspired and fab, how will it fair in the 80th final? KXbE3K53Ii0
January 21, 20169 yr Author CRYWOLF - AKUREYRI The nation of Quintessa have been celebrating their recent success in the contest, and have decided to send Crywolf as their 25th entry in the contest. I loved "Akureyri" from the moment I heard it, hopefully it can do well in the contest AJ1RpYhf_Ts
January 21, 20169 yr Love that you sent this, a rare Terra Avium recycle *.* I really hope this does better than when I sent him, I've been delving into his stuff recently and this is a real highlight
January 21, 20169 yr Hoping for a third consecutive big hit for you, I like this nearly as much as 'The Home We Made Pt II' which obviously deserved to be huge itself, let's hope people show better taste second time around.
April 14, 20169 yr Author VANESSA ELISHA - OUT OF TIME Sending a consecutive R&B single into the competition, not my usual fare, but it stood out when searching for new songs. 7dbop-T-zAs
April 14, 20169 yr Author Cheers Cam, at least it has the one fan. Edited April 14, 20169 yr by Leonardo
June 13, 20169 yr Author ELEKTRA - I DON'T DO BOYS Going with a pop-rock lesbian anthem from Iceland, which is a first for me for all three of those descriptions. MxAvsYrHOmI
February 13, 20178 yr Author DIANA WANG - HOME The Copperelli Chronicle ceased publication last year, hence the lack of publication of Quintessa entries ensued. A string of undeserved DNQs followed broken only by Ani Glass & Ghost, now Zelebrino Zucci has launched the Vanna Rosa Times in order to fill the void. Representing Quintessa for its 36th contest is Diana Wang a singer of disputed nationality (from what I can gather born to Chinese parents, yet born and raised in the Netherlands and then returning to Shanghai), who has represented Daehun in the past and is now flying the flag for Quintessa in order to garner them their first final of 2017. mrEee4bhc7Y
February 20, 20178 yr Author Diana Wang qualifies for Quintessa http://img1.oss.ifensi.com/2016/0408/20160408034406764.jpg Quintessa are celebrating tonight after qualifying for their first 2017 BJSC Final and 13th overall, despite many poor odds and predictions. This has been part of the new initiative of the QSC (Quintessan Song Committee), to diversify the genres being sent by the country by sending pop again. Tropical house however is still barred, as it's too popular/cheap/already dated/awful. Thanks to those who voted :cheer:
March 6, 20178 yr Author WANG FALTERS, FMLYBND GO TOP 10 Quintessa are in somewhat high spirits after BJSC XCII, Recieving high votes from a few countries ensured "Home" missed the bottom 10 of the contest to come 30th. The song definitely appealed more to pop voters, which is part of Quintessa's mission statement to diversify genres and artists. My entry for Masquerade has been revealed as "Letting Go" by FMLYBND recycled from Medhelnia. We were a little apprehensive with this draw as they haven't as many entries as other countries, but the standard of artists was high, and we settled with "Letting Go" a million miles away from the Diana Wang song. Quintessa were thrilled with their third top 10 finish in a spin-off as Taahino had points deducted for non-voting. Also, Cor Lupus had been gifted the pearl of Quintessa, and went back to our first phase of DNQs and decided upon our cheapest artist, Panic! At The Disco. I see why Cody went with it as he's not the biggest Quintessa fan, only voting for Gina Kushka outside of spin-offs, who hasn't released many other songs, and we do love PATD but it was uninspired and landed in the bottom 5 :( On looking up other potential entries Cody may have used for Quintessa, we found our next entry, our first recycle and an epic song that we have had on repeat since *.* Don't have a clue on how it will go down though. It's another dark entry for Quintessa. Other potentials lined up included a pop duet, a fun novelty disco track, a Eurovision-y song from Belgium and a trance entry with an strings breakdown.
March 6, 20178 yr plz don't tell me it's something I have planned for next contest (Although you said dark so I suppose not)
March 6, 20178 yr Congrats on the top 10 for FMLYBND *.* I was catching up on results and saw that I gave 'Letting Go' its only points for a lil while, so thank goodness it managed to pick up quite a lot! I like it even more than 'Come Alive' so it was a very good pick.
March 6, 20178 yr Author plz don't tell me it's something I have planned for next contest (Although you said dark so I suppose not) Ooh, planning another Quintessa recycle? Yeah, doubt that you'd pick the one I have, look forward to hearing yours. Congrats on the top 10 for FMLYBND *.* I was catching up on results and saw that I gave 'Letting Go' its only points for a lil while, so thank goodness it managed to pick up quite a lot! I like it even more than 'Come Alive' so it was a very good pick. Thanks, I really enjoyed the Tame Impala entry, forgot to put in my write-up that the top is one of my favourite top twos of all tournaments, so kudos to Dan & Riser. I didn't like Dan's main contest win however.
March 7, 20178 yr Ooh, planning another Quintessa recycle? Yeah, doubt that you'd pick the one I have, look forward to hearing yours.Hopefully it doesn't get vetoed :P
March 13, 20178 yr Author WOOLF AND THE WONDERSHOW RETURN TO REPRESENT 6V-2ucl65kU Yes, as teased, Quintessa decided to recycle from themselves after pondering what they would have been sent if they got themselves in the Masquerade ball. After discovering this entry which seems sort of like a sequel to "Cloaked" especially with the video and fell in love with it, it's been the first time that a potential entry has been my top played song of the month since 'Natural Animal'. Quintessa also have been selected to host the 80s spin off and have been delighted by the responses so far, so the voting stages of that will be open on Thursday. We have gone for something very soul and very 80s. Good luck to all that enter.
April 19, 20178 yr Author WOOLF FALTERS, QUINTESSA BRINGS BACK THE EIGHTIES, WE ENTER GOOSE HOUSE, DRIFTMOON QUALIFY http://static.idolator.com/uploads/2016/04/woolf-wondershow-compressed.jpg A lot has happened since we last posted, unfortunately in BJSC93, Woolf And The Wondershow just failed to qualify with "Cages" by a single point, this is not the first time this has happened to our country, but that does mean it has the potential to do well in REJECTS. Hopefully, people will have more of a love for epic baroque pop by then. QWfZ5SZZ4xE Also, in Spinoff news, Quintessa were delighted to host their first contest, one devoted to the music of the 1980s. We always think of the 80s as being high camp, synths and fabulosity which can be summed up with the earworm "New Attitude" by Patti LaBelle which finished in a respectable 13th position, the winner of course was the perennial underdogs, Aeroche who decided to recycle the entry of the ever-present and conquering Singerpurear to bring them their first spin-off win with Sandra's "In The Heat Of The Night". 1prZmb5r6kI Cadelicia have picked up Quintessa's gauntlet to bring us Japan vs South Korea I: This Time It's Personal, two countries I haven't used outside of my entry for Instrumentals, Hikari by Yoko Shimomura, so I had two songs in my repetoire, both from Japan, both theme tunes, just beating out the Cardcaptors Theme Tune was Hikaru Nara by Goose House the theme tune to "You Lie In April". It's an upbeat jolly tune which may be foreshadowing my upcoming entry. (Not Japanese tho, Afrikaans). e6I04JJf_GI And so we come in my 2017 of diversity, back to trance which hasn't been touched by me since "Flying" by Silvermine. This time it's Czech production team Driftmoon teaming up with New Jersey violinist DSharp, to bring me not only my first instrumental entry (outside instrumental spin-off obvs.) but also my longest entry to date at 6:13, beating the time of "Who You Are" by Natural Animal at 5:46. This has already qualified and has had some lovely support, so hopefully we avoid that wooden spoon, which we've only had once before with Elektra. Edited April 19, 20178 yr by Leonardo
April 19, 20178 yr 'Genesis' is incredddd (supporting instrumental entries as ever x). Thank god this wasn't a repeat of the disastrous DNQ of Silvermine :drama:
April 19, 20178 yr Hikaru Nara just came 2nd (like, today) in an r/anime openings contest (losing out to a A Cruel Angel's Thesis from the classic NGE)! It's a huge tune and was one of my main contenders for this spinoff too, I'll be supporting that Very much enjoying your current main contest entry as well!
