I don't think Shakira can be blamed for not performing live, she must be in demand everywhere and why look after the BBC when the BBC have turned there nose up to her?

Yes, it was disappointing as a viewer that she wasn't there live, but it sums up the BBC and the demise of TOTP.

No one ever said it was. Its just a bit of a let down.

Are we not allowed to express ourselves here anymore?

Sorry, carry on

And the point to that was? ...

I was trying to break the tension <_< Cheer up :D

Yes, if I was a recording artist who has had the biggest selling track in the world this year (i.e. Shakira), then I'm sure that I would not be bothered to perform an exclusive performance on a corporation (the BBC) which has not play-listed her single on their flagship station (Radio1) as "we don't think it is appropriate material for our target audience 15-24 year olds".

.... and yet Radio1 played to death the very similar (but hopelessly inferior IMHO) Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes & the Black Eyed Peas.... <_<

Personally, if Anastacia quit music i would'nt be that bothered - but i would understand how dissapointed her fans would be.

So im saying that im a bit miffed that they ended a show which has run for 42 years like that and id hope you could see where im coming from.

There has got to be an Xmas Special of TOTP.

But knowing the BBC they will do one but not call it by that brand name.

Well hopefully they will still do them. It has been said there will still be specials, in addition to the return of TOTP2.

exactly, if they have given her no support at all, the dj's openly critercise her album, only play the single once a week due to her being top 3 for the past 7 weeks, then why should she halt her sold out world tour to come and perform for them?
