August 25, 201113 yr I really can't see Papi being big at this stage. They waited ages after I'm Into You and the momentum is lost. I'd like to be proven wrong but I do think the Love? era won't get any more big success.
August 25, 201113 yr Probably not tbh :( but we are getting a GH next year so maybe that will provoke people to buy it? Video looks lush.
August 25, 201113 yr Are you sure that's next year? I heard this year but it might have been pushed back - I haven't really been following Jenny lately. If Papi does do well though, I need them to release Hypnotico after! I love that song.
August 25, 201113 yr Pretty sure, in her Vanity Fair interview she said that she’ll be going back to the studio soon to record some extra tracks for the GH and that it will be released sometime in 2012. Hopefully in time for an Idol performance :kink:

I'd like to be proven wrong but I do think the Love? era won't get any more big success. Why not? Like I've previously said, 'Papi' will smash in Europe, and I reckon she's got another guaranteed UK Top 20 at LEAST. Also, in regards to "waiting ages after 'Im Into You' and lost momentum" 'On The Floor' only just left the UK Top 40 last week and is still receiving a lot of airplay (as is 'I'm Into You'), so I don't reckon they've left it too long at all. Infact, 'On The Floor' is STILL Top 10 in a quite a few European countries, Spain and Greece to name a few.

She's had some brilliant singles. Why not? Like I've previously said, 'Papi' will smash in Europe, and I reckon she's got another guaranteed UK Top 20 at LEAST. I don't know tbh, I just feel like she could have kept the momentum going better (in the UK at least). If she released Papi sooner after I'm Into You it would have had a better platform to properly smash, but I feel it won't reach its maximum potential now. I'd love to be proven wrong (it's a decent album) but I just can't see it being big. It's more a gut feeling than anything else. Edited August 25, 201113 yr by Magic Bounce

I imagine it'll be in the Summer, a year or so is a good time. She also has a few movies out next year, so its added promo. She's had 7 english, 1 spanish and a remix album so Jenny won't be hard pushed to fill the GH  Plus some new material. I can see this being a pretty good seller, she always tended to do better with her singles than her albums.
August 26, 201113 yr If it were up to me I'd have the Greatest Hits out this November promoted by (What Is) Love? and put Hypnotico on it too to use as a fifth single from Love? / second from the GH.
August 26, 201113 yr I think Jark's idea would be the perfect strategy and actually what I myself was thinking, at least re. the single choices.
August 26, 201113 yr "(What Is) Love?" will not be a hit, it's been attempted release twice. 1) Alongside "The Back-Up Plan", I believe she even performed it in Europe 2) It was an iTunes download single and did NOTHING. She should put "Good Hit" out, it sort of, has a video.
August 26, 201113 yr It was never released during the Back-Up Plan time, she just sang it to promote the movie. It was a promo single, only in America. It came out only a week or so before the album. Good Hit has a 1 minute video, hardly counts as a release. Edited August 26, 201113 yr by Regina
August 26, 201113 yr Good Hit would be an almighty flop. What Is Love? certainly wouldn't scale the heights OTF did in the US, but nor has IIY. Hypnotico would stand a decentish shot at being a hit though I think. Both would do alright in the UK/Europe though and I think WIL could sell the album(s) quite well.
August 26, 201113 yr I think its best to have a brand new song for the GH, same sorta sound as Hypnotico though.

Good Hit has a 1 minute video, hardly counts as a release. It was available to buy on the soundtrack for like a week or so before being made album only... Plenty of songs are released a week before an album is released on the iTunes countdown in the US ("ET", "Love You Like A Love Song", "Hair").
August 26, 201113 yr Just because it was made available for a week to buy off a soundtrack does not mean it was released as a single.
August 26, 201113 yr What Is Love? has never been attempted as a single. It was the third iTunes promo single and it did nothing but they never DO unless you're Lady Gaga. It's the perfect song to show a bit of variety and depth to Jennifer - huge chorus, massive recognisable sample, move away from the club beats everybody else is doing, it's perfect.
August 26, 201113 yr I think Jark's strategy is pretty good, they're two of my favourites on the album and WIL would be the 'album selling' single, while Hypnotico could be a (relative) hit considering it'd be 4th/5th single.
August 28, 201113 yr I adore 'Papi' to bits, but I listened to it more closely today and the lyrics are so dire!
