I sense another flop for the UK this year

It came 2nd for Ukraine, and 'Molitva' (Serbia) came 1st that year.

It's one of my favourite Eurovision songs too!

The UK will do well this year, lots of bookies think it will do well too :D

I havent heard the UK but assume it would flop because its Blue

It definitely wouldn't flop because it's Blue. They had / have a huge fanbase all over the Europe and their song is very good too!

As for Verka... Oh, can't stand him/her, and this song is the decentest from him, other his songs are utter $h!t while this is just $h!t.

Dancing Lasha Tumbai was the ONE SOLE moment I was actually able to get on board with Eurovision. It really was TREMENDOUS.

Oh shush you and consume some MoR diva tat to prove yourself INCORRECT. If you actually listened properly to the compilation each year I'm sure you'd find a few songs to get on board with. Like THIS.

This is now my most played song today

I really didn't like the joke entries we got pre-jury comeback as I liked to hear decent music. Thankfully it's not so bad now!! :D

I'm currently waiting for HMV to despatch my Eurovision CD, anyone else ordered and been despatched yet?

Sorry, I'm behind with all things ESC - what is the voting system like these days?

50% televoting, 50% jury. :)

'Dancing Lasha Tumbai' and 'Song #1' were robbed in 2007. :drama: I've always been convinced that Serbia only won in 2007 because it was their first time entering Eurovision as an independent country.

'Moltiva' was such a popular winner, it became a moster top 10 hit in...erm, Sweden (scraping to a chart peak of #9 :P ). Mind you, 'Believe' the following year didn't exactly fare better.

For me, it was all about Ukraine in 2007 ('Dancing Lasha Tumbai') and 2008 ('Shady Lady').

They entered as Serbia & Montenegro though in 2004 and 2005, so it was hardly THAT notable. And it was a pretty amazing live performance which got votes from everywhere apart from the UK & Ireland, so I reckon it did win on its own merits.

I suppose the song just didn't appeal to me hence why I've always dismissed it as nonsense. :( A bit like 'One Step Out Of Time' by Michael Ball in 1992. Such a tragic excuse of a song, but a great vocal performance got the track 2nd in Eurovision (when it was clearly a 9th place non-entity really :kink: ).

A lesbian with incredible voice and a strong ballad with 'Prayer' being a title! :o

Damn right it was always going to do well.

Sorry but unless it's folk music from an impoverished nation set to a cheap dance beat fronted by an Elton John drag act dressed in a tinfoil jump suit then I'M NOT INTERESTED.

A transexual Celine Dion does NOTHING FOR ME

I will never understand how that fat lesbian singing that awful boring song beat Verka :(

I remember it now and I remember thinking Serbia were dreadful :(

Oh Shelli (& Klumzee + anyone else who loved it) - Verka was dreadful :( I wasn't in love with 'Molitva', but at least something beat Verka - should've been Russia though.
