I'm guessing he didn't know it was out in the first place.

Ah okay. I'm guessing you didn't know it was released. So you just opened up the thread and see "Judas up to #10". Yeah, I'd've probably been the same too.

I think it'll get to #1 on iTunes sometime tommorrow.

I knew it was out, I just didn't think the track would climb that fast, plus I wasn't aware it was on iTunes until now.

I just noticed there are three songs in the top 10 with a (Remix) tag - Sweat, Buzzin and S&M. How strange.

Slightly contradicting statement there Mikey.

Anyways, why should Lady GaGa have to enter at #1 in the UK to prove she's successful and show how loyal her fanbase is? It doesn't mean anything at all. 'Poker Face' has sold over a million in the UK and that didn't hit #1 until its 10th week on the chart.

I think it's because acts with big fanbases usually début at #1 if they get there at all. But PF and Telephone climbed because they were album tracks and I think JD was released midway through the week or something? But even if it wasn't, GaGa didn't exactly have a fanbase back then. Bad Romance being a climber to #1 was a bit more surprising as she definitely had a fanbase then.

lol. What sort of artist garners a fanbase such that they could debut at #1 on their 2nd single with no promotion? Seriously guys, we're talking about NOW. i.e. Born This Way, Judas, and any other pre-album Lady Gaga songs that might get released in the future.

If Poker Face never existed, but was put on iTunes NOW, it would go straight to #1. If Wale released his album NOW, Chillin' would go top 10 on cherry-pickings alone.

If you want to pretend that Lady Gaga has no fans, Bad Romance is clearly your best arguement. Poker Face, Love Game, Paparazzi, Alejandro and Telephone aren't good arguements, when it's practically impossible for them to debut at #1.

Chillin' was a bit ill timed tbh. Had he left it until after Bad Romance, it would've been even bigger!

I think the music video is key in promoting tracks these days. For eg had 'Who's That Chick?' had a video when the track was first released to iTunes, it would have probably gone top 3 in the UK. Of course we'll never know for sure.

When 'Bad Romance' was released, I don't think there was any buzz whatsoever surrounding the track. At least it didn't seem to have any. Someone on ChC posted the track (just audio video) when it got released to iTunes and I became an iLoon just for the song - it was a pop masterpiece imo. The premier of the video had a massive boost followed by the Bath Haus style performance on X Factor which catipulted the song to #1 (where I'd been wanting the song for six weeks   ).

'Born This Way' and now 'Judas' both being released on Fridays is an interesting move. 'BTW' selling 60k+ in less than 2 days, I somehow doubt 'Judas' will quite manage that this weekend.

 9. Judas - Lady GaGa

SLY literally on the brink of dropping out of the top 10 now. At least it's likely the song that will take its place is by a British artist though (Wretch 32). I wonder if SLY will start falling faster once it's dropped out? RITD dropped straight to 15 instead of 11/12. (Although that's now stabilised again so bad example)

Cee-Lo up to 12, Kanye down to 13 :cheer:

Ah, that's slightly less annoying than Kanye just climbing back to #11 yet again.

^ Yeah, Rolling in the Deep was funny with the top 10, because iirc, it fell out the top 10 twice, and climbed back in both times within a matter of hours. I remember Katy On a Mission and We No Speak Americano doing that, but they only did it once.

A question i asked earlier but didnt get answered as we all got caught up with Judas

Was RITD in the top 10 for 10 weeks, or was it 9? How long has SLY been in top 10, will it be 8 on Sunday? My memory isnt the best

If Cee-Lo's vile BLBC gets top 10 when Kanye's brilliant AOTL missed out, I'll be pissed off :( Go Gaga though!!!

RITD was top 10 for 10 weeks and Sunday will be SLY's 9th week. So SLY is very unlikely to match RITD's total but RITD was lucky to be honest - it dropped out of the top 10 but then re-entered within about a day after being used on Dancing On Ice, if that hadn't happened it would likely have not got back in.

Would be nice if both could spend 10 weeks in top 10  but obviously SLY spent 5 at #1 and is set to sell 1,000,000 so anything is a bonus

I wouldnt say lucky, it got back in to the top 10, doesnt matter the reason lol Any promo is good promo (99% of time :P)

Judas #1 by tomorrow afternoon i'd expect.

Judas should be number one on iTunes by late afternoon - no one really buys in the morning (I don't actually know) but anything can happen.
