02 - Her voice is putting me off slightly, it's having a similar effect on me as Clare Maguire :lol: . It will probably be number one next week, but I doubt it'll have an epic run like Hera, Inga & Anush, Ishtar etc did. As far as it's placing in the contest, I can't see it doing well at all. I'd estimate 8th-12th in the semi final, and if it makes it through, 19th-23rd in the final. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

06 - :lol: . It's a weird one for me, as I really like the music but the lyrics put me off drastically. With better lyrics, it would be this year's big favourite on my chart, probably racking up 10+ weeks at the top. Instead, it'll probably continue to fall now and have a mini resurgence during Eurovision week.

10 - Yep, at last! Aided by the documentary and new video. How much higher it'll go is questionable.

02 - Her voice is putting me off slightly, it's having a similar effect on me as Clare Maguire :lol: . It will probably be number one next week, but I doubt it'll have an epic run like Hera, Inga & Anush, Ishtar etc did. As far as it's placing in the contest, I can't see it doing well at all. I'd estimate 8th-12th in the semi final, and if it makes it through, 19th-23rd in the final. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

06 - :lol: . It's a weird one for me, as I really like the music but the lyrics put me off drastically. With better lyrics, it would be this year's big favourite on my chart, probably racking up 10+ weeks at the top. Instead, it'll probably continue to fall now and have a mini resurgence during Eurovision week.

10 - Yep, at last! Aided by the documentary and new video. How much higher it'll go is questionable.

Yeah, 26 different countries acts appear. Mostly thanks to Eurovision :lol:

 

Bruno Mars and Jessie J's songs chart together as they weren't strong enough (imo) to make my chart as separate entries, and the new Now album meant it was the perfect time for them to chart. I do like the PATD song, but it wasn't strong enough to stand up against the Eurovision tidal wave at the top end of the chart. I really liked their recent album, a huge improvement on the second album.

36. Wow :o I know a lot of people hate returners to #1. 5 of my end of year top 6 from last year had more than one stint at #1 :lol: I always have re-entries, I go on and off songs so frequently. Plus as I chart songs instantly it's natural for them to have a chart run, disappear, then get a UK release 6 months later and re-appear!

44. It's grown on me slightly - enough for the album to make my top 10, but it's still more style over substance imo. By the way, you might like the new Lenka album, I'm LOVING that right now :wub:

I'm currently charting 16 entries and have charted 26 of them so far, I know my chart's grown but I definitely didn't like that many songs from last year's contest. It's lacking anything I love quite as much as Satellite, but in every other way I prefer it - I just hope that the show and results are great!

36. A Night Like This is a song that I never seem to get bored of! Sounds great in the sunshine too :D See I would re-chart White Light Moment as I'd start hearing it again and get back into it. Release Me had been at #1 for me, and dropped as low as top 30 before I got wind of a UK release, and as the promo kicked in it edged back up my chart and eventually returned to #1. Another example is album tracks that chart and are then later promoted as singles and re-enter - I've had a ton of those.

I randomly downloaded it somewhere out of curiosity and I quite liked her debut album but this one is all killer, no filler imo - by the second listen I practically remembered all of the melodies on it :o Shame The Show was never a bigger hit here, although it did lucky to get top 30 - it wouldn't these days :drama:

I have a feeling that the reason I'm liking so many more this year is because the compilation has come out about a month earlier, meaning that I'm devoting more time to the entries than I usually do - combined with the fact that the UK music scene isn't exactly thriving, it's giving the contest quite an impact on my chart this year :o

I randomly downloaded it somewhere out of curiosity and I quite liked her debut album but this one is all killer, no filler imo - by the second listen I practically remembered all of the melodies on it :o Shame The Show was never a bigger hit here, although it did lucky to get top 30 - it wouldn't these days :drama:

I have a feeling that the reason I'm liking so many more this year is because the compilation has come out about a month earlier, meaning that I'm devoting more time to the entries than I usually do - combined with the fact that the UK music scene isn't exactly thriving, it's giving the contest quite an impact on my chart this year :o

 

10 - Yeah, I should have charted Daz higher. I guess I just preferred some of the other entries a lot more at the time. I really liked Nicki's song, my favourite of 2000 in fact... not that that was hard :lol: .

36 - A Night Like This never gets boring :wub: . Release Me never left my chart in between it's Swedish and UK releases, but the UK release did catapult it to a new peak of #1. It spent 59 weeks on my chart and is currently my record holder for amount of weeks :o

10. 2000's contest was truly dire. I literally only liked Russia and Estonia's entries although I can see the merit in Latvia and Denmark's. Ines' I thought could have been a chart hit at the time - I wasn't following the contest but I do remember hearing that song somewhere at the time - it was like LeAnn Rimes meets Lene Marlin to me, even if everyone else kept calling her 'the Estonia Britney' - apart from her being young, I couldn't see the similarity there!

36. Even though it didn't get into the top ten, it's one of my favourite BJSC entries of the ones I've sent! Oh, fair enough - so there are some exceptions then. It didn't hang around that long for me but it was in the top ten for half a year almost combined. It was my #1 for xmas 2008 but I never thought that it would go on to be a UK hit! It just seemed like another random Swedish hit that I was charting at #1 :lol:

44. As usual, I'm the opposite - I really like The Show but the debut album didn't hold my attention for very long at all!

50. Exactly, which I'm grateful for, it's nice to have all of the official versions earlier. Yeah, I'm a little tired of club bangers, so between ESC and BJSC, at least I'm filling up my chart with something. If it's still like this in 6 months when ESC is well and truly over, I reckon I'll be very disappointed with the quality of my personal chart.

I'm still surprised this is one of the bookies' faves to win. It's always been one of the stronger entries, imo, but I just never considerd this as a winner.

20 (44) Ell & Nikki ~ Running Scared ~ 3 [39-44-20]

 

It seems a lot of Buzzjackers regard this as "twee". I think it's easily one of the strongest Eurovision entries this year and wouldn't be at all surprised if this won. It's not groundbreaking but it's innoffensive therefore more likely to appeal to people over 40.

 

40 (**) TWiiNS ~ I'm Still Alive ~ 1 [40]

 

I have a feeling this won't qualify but having heard all the Eurovision entries, this track is one of my faves. That said, I've only seen the music video so I don't know if the girls can cut it when performing live.

10 - Netherlands, Estonia and Latvia were my other favourites in 2000. Denmark was OK, but the XTM version is leagues better. Finland could have been awesome if they'd sent Nightwish, but alas that never happened :( . How strange, Ines doesn't sound anything like Britney :lol:

50 - Same, and at the moment I can't where it will improve.

01 - Sadly not, the live rip is all I have too. It should be released on their next album which is pencilled in for a late summer release.

02 - It is my favourite of this year's entries, but her voice is slightly off-putting. I don't like any entry this year as much as Hera last year.

09 - If the crowd reacts extremely positively to it, it might convince people to vote for it. A roar similar to Lena's when she entered the stage would cement a top 5 finish at least.

10 - This is comfortably their highest peak. The next is All Rise which entered at number 16 for one week when my chart was a top 20 :lol: .

20 - I'm thinking top 3. If it gets a good draw though, it could well do a lot better than that.

40 - Well they were horrendous as backing vocalists in 2008 so I'm not holding out much hope. Slovakia are 99% certain to not qualify though, their entry last year was pretty brilliant, but it failed miserably. I had a feeling it would, but it was undeserved.

44 - It is a highlight. Maybe you'll feel better if I told you Riverside went top 3 in my chart at the start of the year... ;) :D

51-60 - Yeah, the now effect has helped all those enter. They won't be around next week though.
