Everything gets banned in China, not being racist or anything but it's true. Hardly any Western acts are allowed to release there I believe.

Well actually I don't see why they ban Katy Perry, Lady Gaga etc. because they're no different to one of their popstars called Jolin Tsai:

Well actually, researching a bit I see they're not as strict as I thought but the following songs were banned recently:

Backstreet Boys - I Want It That Way (:mellow:)

Last Friday Night (for the lyrics about streaking in the park :mellow:)

Lady Gaga:

The Edge Of Glory (WHY?)

Bloody Mary (just because it's a bible refrence?)

Judas (see above)

Marry The Night (it's only about partying?)

Americano (:mellow:)

Beyonce - Run The World (for 'we run this mutha')

 

Also TAKE THAT are on the banlist (not sure which songs) :lol:

 

All to combat 'poor taste and vulgar taste'. And yet songs like Peacock (come on baby let me see what you're hiding underneath), Heavy Metal Lover (I want your whisky mouth, all over my blonde south), Government Hooker (just the title fgs!) etc. are allowed? I mean I love all these songs (bar IWITW :P) and can't see how ANY of them are banned but by their standards the ones I just mentioned should be banned too! And it's a bit hypocritical when that Jolin Tsai song is called 'Honey Trap' and when I translated the lyrics they were very suggestive!
