A few years ago there was a single release based on the Only Fools theme. The lyric went something like "My name is ginger, I'm getting so much stick, cos I'm a banger and proud of it...".

What was it called and who was it by? Thanks

Don't recall it myself. Done some googling and came up with nothing.

The theme tune itself (from Series 2+ anyway) was sung by it's creator John Sullivan who passed away suddenly on Friday. I'm trying to find out about a rap-type track that heavily featured the theme tune and also featured in the video Marlene, Boycie and Mickey Pearce out clubbing (and with no disrespect intended to the three actors, looking conspicuosly old in a club full of teens). In my area the Oxford Channel used to show it on their nightly music show all the time. They also used to regularly show a song that went 'All the duck are swimming in the water lala lala la la" that I've never found elsewhere too.

The original theme tune in series 1 was actually just a bouncy slightly jazzy tune, and it can still be heard in episode 1 during a montage of Del trying to flog the briefcases.

That's 'Nice Weather For Ducks' by Lemon Jelly. It charted at number 16 in 2003.

I remember a few years ago, I had a mash up of the Only Fools and Horses theme tune with Eminem's Without me  I've probably still got it somewhere.

I'm guessing you mean this:

Released at Christmas 2002 but totally flopped.

How could it have flopped? :P

I remember that Ginga thing - to me that was the start of the beginnings of "chav culture" as all the chav lads at college liked that song.

Thanks superbossanova that's the one! Looking at it now I think Boycie is meant to be the club owner, hence why he, Marlene and Mickey are there. And did I hear a certain four letter word muttered by one of them right at the end after the van drove off?

I remember the Oxford Channel showing it during the summer (2003?) so I'm guessing they got the videos of stuff that had already flopped at a cut price.

Does anyone know if there's a legal download available anywhere? (I've tried Amazon and Play).

It doesn't seem to be available as a legal download anywhere, unfortunately...

Have you tried looking for a used CD copy of it somewhere? Do they not have any selling on eBay, Amazon?

I think they have a cd on amazon. I was thinking about starting a facebook group to buy/chart it this week as a tribute to John Sullivan, but a few archive CDs won't be enough, even in a low sales week. I don't suppose the real theme to Only Fools or Green Green Grass is available anywhere?

Just looked on amazon and there are several versions on TV themes compilations, but I don't think any are the real version.

Where it get to in the chart?

I don't belive this made the top 200 at all!!!

I remember it getting attention oddly enough. Perhaps it was released then DQ'd?
