May 1, 201114 yr Glad Oasis 'Wonderwall' didn't get any higher (if I had a top ten personal worse songs of all time, it would probably be in there!). It's looking as if I will like all of the top five which frankly shocks me! But I'm rooting for Kylie (KLF and Underworld I'll be happy with otherwise!). I never particularly liked Dario G to begin with and as it became overplayed, I began to HATE it! It annoys the utter hell out of me!
May 1, 201114 yr I'm only 27, but the above period is my preferred choice (maybe it should be 97-03); knowing what I know about pop music and its legacy (pop in the broadest sense, that is). The early stages of dance and house music (and for guilt, the SAW sound!) are what make this era my preferred choice; so this is slightly contradicting my opinion! '87 to '93 were when Pet Shop Boys and Erasure (my two favourite pop groups) were at their best plus in 1993 my tastes started to become alternative when I began to listen to REM, Tori Amos, Kate Bush and New Order.
May 1, 201114 yr I really hope my -2 stopped that awful Verve song from being in the top 5. Pulp and The KLF are two of my favourite acts of all time so also hoping they make up the top two.
May 2, 201114 yr Oh my. Underworld Top 5? It would be a great winner but actually the whole Top 5 is deserved (not so much into Kylie though, Confide In Me is much better). Ideal Top 5 would be: 1. Born Slippy 2. Common People 3. Justified And Ancient 4. Ray Of Light 5. Better The Devil You Know
May 2, 201114 yr Author 05 - Madonna "Ray Of Light" (1998) (+85) This song entered the chart at number 2 behind All Saints 'Under The Bridge' and is one of her 64 top ten hits. This was the follow up to her number one 'Frozen' a4tD8dy9Reg
May 2, 201114 yr Ray Of Light  I thought this was overrated when it first released (I did like it but trendy folk were deeming it to be the best thing she'd ever recorded) but it really has grown on me over the years, the production definitely has helped as it's aged really well.
May 2, 201114 yr Author 04 - Underworld "Born Slippy" (1996) (+85) Underworld were unlucky to miss number one with this, the Fugees climbed up from number 2 to have a 5th week at number one stopping Underworld. This is their only top ten single, but they had nine other T40 hits, including re-issues. TlLWFa1b1Bc
May 2, 201114 yr Author 03 - Kylie Minogue "Better The Devil You Know" (1990) (+90) This song spent 2 weeks at no.2 behind Adamski and it was the follow up to number one hit 'Tears on My Pillow'. OgvhvaSQZeE -- What will be number one? Find out at quarter past :D Edited May 2, 201114 yr by danielMFAO
May 2, 201114 yr Born Slippy    so different and unconventional, its one of my favourites from the 90s, I don't think BTDYK was *that* good tbh, she had better songs and Pulp ftw :D Edited May 2, 201114 yr by chart wizard
May 2, 201114 yr And with that we have what will be the best final 2 that any rate on Buzzjack will ever see.
May 2, 201114 yr Author 02 - The KLF feat. Tammy Wynette "Justified and Ancient" (1992) (+97) The fourth hit for The KLF, and the last hit for Tammy Wynette (before this song her last hit was 'I Don't Wanna Play House' number 37 in 1976). The KLF and Tammy would have got a second number one hit if Queen weren't at the top with BR. (Tammy scored a number one in 75' 'Stand By Your Man') ZX0mcases4M
May 2, 201114 yr Author 01 - Pulp "Common People" (1995) (+138) The first top ten hit for Pulp is this, which missed out number one thanks to Robson & Jerome. It was their third T40 hit out of 12. DqgXzPfAxjo

Next up is the 80s. Pulp deserved that win imo  Classic britpop song. Also great that Robert Miles went top 10 here, my favourite song of the 90s.
May 2, 201114 yr Pulp indeed deserved the win, it really did define an era and was such an anthem. It probably would have been the best #1 of the decade too if it had made it.
May 2, 201114 yr Pulp deserved that win- one of the defining britpop songs of the 90s   and all my favourites did relatively well as well so thats all good thanks again for this, Daniel, 80s number 1s should be interesting Edited May 2, 201114 yr by chart wizard
May 2, 201114 yr Terrible #1, and not a big fan of the top5, just that Kylie track. I find Born Slippy and Ray Of Light really overrated. The bottom of the top10 is a bit better. Thanks for doing this, we know how time consuming these things can be ;) Good job!
May 2, 201114 yr Oh my! :D What a fantastic top 2, and Pulp winning by so much too! Brilliant song, definitely deserving of classic status. I'm going to listen to them both now I think.
May 2, 201114 yr Woo big win for Common People. Deserved classic great winner. And glad that Born Slippy finished 4th  Great work Daniel.
