I don't quite get what was so exciting about the video for 'Only Girl' compared with the brilliant 'S&M' video.

I'm not sure.. maybe it's just my kind of style. I thought the only girl video was so simple but at the same time was shot so brilliantly whereas the video for s&m just looked a bit messy and overcrowded

I love the video! :o I think it's very well directed and is the darker version of the 'What's My Name?' video. She is on such a roll. I can't quite see UK radio touching this though (bar 1Xtra) unless they do one of their horrific censored "for radio" edits. <_<
I like it, although its not as good as I was expecting, I hope it at least gets Top 40 over here even though its not a proper single in the UK. It could be my fave off Loud atm
The video is very good, much better than the boring old Cali King Bed video anyway, but I just can't bring myself to love the song.

Seems like the 'Man Down' video has sparked a lot of controversy recently. The PTC public policy director just spoke to CNN about the issue.

I find it absurb that they are constantly going on about this. I can understand where they're coming from but its truly getting out of hand. I mean if they don't want children to see the video then simply change the channel, its not as if they are being forced to watch it. The video has a message being sent out to women everywhere who are victims of rape/sexual abuse. I wish they'd just look into the song lyrics rather than judge it by the video, the lyrics clearly read that she is remorseful of what she did. BET is going to continue airing the video as it complies with their guidelines.

What do you guys think ?

Just saw the video

I like it. It stuck to the actual song lyrics. It's hard hitting and displaying what women have done or may have even considered.

Funny how they never moaned about the song's lyrics when the album was released, yet when it's displayed as music video they get all pissy.

I hate it when they say they don't wanna display their children to stuff like this. Change the channel or allow your child to make the decision themselves. I don't think any parent can stop a child not seeing particular stuff really. Your going to get exposed to it eventually.

Loving this. First Rihanna single I've been all that excited about in ageeees. Totally going to have to give 'Loud' another go then as I'd always dismissed this and most of the rest as overhyped.

This is listed on the UK's 'Coming Soon' release schedule and Kiss seem to be playing it a lot, and it's in the 40s on iTunes at the moment, so this will probably be the 5th single for the UK!

I hope so, it's a great track.

Big hit in the Netherlands. Actually the best charting single from the 'Loud' era bar 'Only Girl'. It's at #3 right now, I doubt it will rise anymore though because 'We Found Love' is already coming.

To me this is very obviously one of her best singles. Love the reggae vibe.

I don't understand her singles chronology though. Basically this song is released almost nowhere? Whoever is in charge of her Dutch releases made a great choice by not releasing California King Bed or Cheers but release this instead :D
