Which may well happen. It's not exactly getting much airplay yet is it... :P

Scott Mills (who bums off Lady Gaga if you didn't know, he talks about her every single day...) played it on Radio 1 like an hour ago, so 5 million people have just heard it.

Great for Gaga! I like this song! I am waiting for the TT one now...

As for Gaga's promo, the truth is it has not worked out as well as anyone thought it would, but they've really used all their weapones, there's not much more they could do. If XF was on I guess an appearence would have guaranteed her the no1 with either BTW or Judas... Still their choice to move on to a new single so fast is a bit weird, like writing Judas off (when it was still climbing mind you).

No where near that many, more like 1 million people.

I'm sure a LOT more than a million people listen to Radio 1 at any given moment in time! :o (Apart from at like 3 in the morning and stuff ).

ITS NOT THE NEXT SINGLE, ITS A PROMOTIONAL SINGLE. THERE WILL BE ANOTHER ONE NEXT WEEK!! - Judas is still climbing!

The next single is Marry The Night

Still they Just killed Judas airplay.

Or do you imagine they will play 3 Gaga songs together all day long?

I think they are releasing all these singles so that they can have a fast selling album with huge sales during the first few weeks. I still don't think this will work, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it...

They were doing that with Rihanna at some point, to be fair.

And Judas is a proper single, so that'll go back to being the dominant Gaga song after a while. Unless this promo single gets to #1 or something.

The point of TEOG is to create hype for the album, not for it to get loads of airplay and sell loads. The sales and what little airplay it gets are just bonuses. (Boni?)

Why is Paul Hardcastle back with 19, I'm so out of the loop lately.

Even if it is "boni", just say "bonuses"!

Radio figures are measured in weeks. The 7-8 million listeners that Moyles and Evans get are weekly, I remember seeing a report which said the 9 million someone got was around 10% of the audience, which if were per show, that at any one point 90 million people would be listening in the UK.

If more than 3 million people listen to Scott Mills show every day his Record of the Week would enter the airplay chart from just those five plays and nothing else.

I've always wondered how Killing In The Name failed to even go top 50 on radio airplay after it got to Xmas #1, there surely must have been a big enough audience for it to get there on one play plus the few other plays it got in the run up to the Xmas chart? It was a heavily publicised chart battle.

I don't know a lot about football, but Manchester United football team have now got 19 'titles', so their fans are downloading '19' as a celebration

I think they should download Adele's album 19 instead. :kink:

Oh, I always thought those figures were daily.

About Scott Mills's Record of the Week, it did nothing in the airply chart, so this isn't really relevant, but Alors on danse got to #41, assumedly based on just his 5 plays (and a play on Floorfillers I guess), which I found very impressive!! :o

Did Killing in the Name get into the airplay chart the week before, because I heard it more the week before than the week after? Even outside Radio 1 I was hearing it quite a lot.
