E.T. is also pretty ancient. It got released almost a year ago now! :o

Nobody's Perfect and Sun Is Up have probably been around a long while too, although I haven't specifically checked for the dates (I might do if I get bored ).

But, as I said, SLY is the oldest in terms of how long it's been since it entered the top 40 :P

In terms of how many weeks the songs will have in the top 40 as of this Sunday:

The Edge Of Glory 1 week

Where Them Girls At 2 weeks

The Lazy Song 4 weeks

Party Rock Anthem 8 weeks

Give Me Everything 4 weeks

Love Love 1 week

Beautiful People 6 weeks

Sweat 9 weeks

Nobody's Perfect 4 weeks

Judas 5 weeks

On The Floor 7 weeks

I Need A Dollar 4 weeks

Sun Is Up 1 week

Finish Line 1 week

Unorthodox 4 weeks

Skinny Love 10 weeks

E.T. 8 weeks

Someone Like You 15 weeks

Anyway, here's official confirmation of RITD being #1 on BBH100:

:cheer:

Is there any chance of I Feel Pretty/Unpretty by Glee Cast being top 20 on Sunday?

No.

doubt it. It was #34 on the midweeks, (not sure how good that is compared to other Glee songs at this point). It will definately be top 30 (maybe just top 25). - its really growing on me the more i listen to it

If this was 2010, they'd've all probably been between 1 and 5 weeks.

And I can't see Glee Cast going any higher than low top 30 this week.

I'd say top 30 or just outside more likely

and I have to admit, its nice to see some variety in the top 10, especially as there was a thread a while back complaining there wasn't any  the new Take That song is quite good actually, far from their best but still good enough, I think it may be front-loaded, but it could get to number 1 in Itunes for a while

Does anyone think Lady Gaga could have 3 songs in the top 10 on iTunes next week? The only other people I can remember doing this are Rihanna and Glee Cast! :o

Well, if I take the equivalent of this coming week in 2010 and do the top 18 :P

Good Times 3 weeks

Ridin' Solo 3 weeks

OMG 8 weeks

Stereo Love 1 week

Candy 2 weeks

She Said 7 weeks

She's Always A Woman 2 weeks

All Night Long 3 weeks

Total Eclipse Of The Heart 1 week

Acapella 5 weeks

Dirty Picture 6 weeks

Not Myself Tonight 1 week

Watercolour 2 weeks

I Need You Tonight 5 weeks

Until You Were Gone 4 weeks

Telephone 16 weeks

This Ain't A love Song 7 weeks

Once 4 weeks

So, Telephone aside, everything was between 1 and 8 weeks (with all but 4 of those 17 being in the 1-5 region, as you said)

Also, Watercolour is a year old :o

Also, anybody noticed 4 of the top 10 songs have credited producers now? I think that's the point when you really know the charts are going dance!! :D

Five :P

David Guetta ft Flo Rida/Nicki Minaj 'Where Them Girls At'

LMFAO ft Lauren Bennet/GoonRock 'Party Rock Anthem' (this was produced by Redfoo of LMFAO and GoonRock)

Pitbull ft Ne-Yo/Afrojack/Nayer 'Give Me Everything'

Chris Brown ft Benny Benassi 'Beautiful People'

Snoop Dogg vs. David Guetta 'Sweat (David Guetta Remix)'

I don't really follow Eurovision, but I thought most of the songs they do there are dance-pop too? Or am I just being guilty of European stereotyping? :kink:

A little bit. The favourite this year for example is an opera track called Sognu from France, don't be alarmed when it appears in the iTunes top 100 on Sunday :P

See, now THAT was a good top 18!!! :D The one we've got now is good, sure, but pales in comparison. I won't be putting hearts next to half these songs in a year time... BRILLIANT top 5 too, although the only one of those that was a mega hit was OMG.

Oh! I though GoonRock was the guy who sang the hook! :o So LMFAO can sing too?! :o And they produce? They're actually quite talented then! :D

Opera?! :o Wow, I guess I'm quite wrong then! Yeah, that would certainly add variety to the chart! :o The closest I think we came to opera so far this year is H.A.M, and let's just say, I don't think that track was everybody's cup of tea!

Your standards for 'mea hit' must be pretty high if Ridin' Solo doesn't count as one... :P

Listening to 'Love Love' now and it's like 'Kids Pt II' but I really like it. :D

Also 'The Edge Of Glory' reminds me of 'My Love Suck Without You' in the chorus. Not musically, just the structure.

Yes, it does. I don't know if anybody else does this, but do you ever hum a song, and then you subconsciously find yourself going into a different song without you noticing? Well I did that with Edge of Glory and Kelly Clarkson. I agree, musically they're very different, but the melodies can flow into each other perfectly.

There was another song in the chart which I thought sounded like something today, but I forgot what it is. :(

Ignore.

Skinny Love's success is a bit bizarre to be honest - maybe one week in the top 30 would be about right but it looks likely to get its tenth straight week top 30 this week! :o As I keep saying, I really wish it could have been the Bon Iver original getting all this success, but at least the public knows the song now. I can see it being used in BGT/XF quite a bit (also Someone Like You, not that it'll need the extra promo anyway :P)

The iTunes run of Skinny Love is a bit odd too, it went top 10 on iTunes on its first week in the top 40 (it had made a few brief appearances outside the top 40 on iTunes before that when it got the occasional play on R1) and charted at #25. It's not yet returned to the top 10 on iTunes but it's beaten that peak 4 times now. (Maybe 5 times this week? Although it's probably more likely to fall a bit)

And Someone Like You is now starting to properly fall a bit, now down to #18.

Skinny Love was played in full at the end of last night's episode of the Vampire Dairies

Firstly, I was talking about the top 5, so I wasn't considering She Said.

And I was considering the year-end top 10 as "mega-hits". Neither She Said nor Ridin' Solo were that big anyway.

There were actually weeks where the whole top 4 ended up in the year-end top 10! :o
