May 12, 201114 yr I quite liked Scott Mills too - even Sara Cox despite her being as wonderfully random as ever.
May 12, 201114 yr If Sweden doesn't go through, I will CRY. Genuinely one of the best songs there, performed by the prettiest person in the competition. I would not cope. This I have a major crush
May 12, 201114 yr I am VERY tempted to watch the live stream from the ESC website without Scott Mills' constant need to talk over everything, but my internet would probably die at the thought of it. I read some comments on BBC, and alot of the comments were negative around Mills' talking over recap, so I don't think he will do the same tonight
May 12, 201114 yr TBH Eurovision members here should gather and make a eurovision song, and maybe compete in a country were they would buy it! like Portugal :kink: or czech republic! :magic:

May 12, 201114 yr If Sweden doesn't go through, I will CRY. Genuinely one of the best songs there, performed by the prettiest person in the competition. I would not cope. Even lousy Russia did qualify, he doesn't have to worry. Especially if the performance is as good as in Melodifestivalen. Haven't seen the rehearsals. Sweden have pretty good track record of destroying the performances. Perrelli and especially Malena Ernman came to mind.
May 12, 201114 yr i remember in Germany younger generation had no problem speaking English, older didn't know a word. i guess it's similar in former USSR too. my parents generation was more about German (what? were they preparing spies or something? then why not for America-USSR cold war?) my generation and later kids know English better. well "better" than theit parents who didn't know it at all  my parents were smart and got me to language school from 1st grade, even though it wasn't our school district. 20 some years later (10 of which were spent in America) my English is, actually, sometimes better than my Russian... lack of practice i guess... the thing is... having studies foreign languages in Belarus (English and German) and in US (French, don't ask lol) i can see why former USSR are so bad... the approach is different. here (US) it's more about conversational language, breaking down mental barrier of being afraid to make a mistake. back there it's all about grammar and vocabulary that you don't ever use. i mean my final exam oral topic was Political situation in Great Britain... other options were Ecology in Belarus, Most prominent people of US, etc... come on! let's sit down and translate Queen songs for crying out loud! :lol:I was taught a lot of the basics first, including the most basic of the grammar rules like sentence structure. I had a really really good teacher who taught us grammar in a way that made sense and was easy to understand. From there it was about building it up so you could go to Germany and have a conversation without stuttering too much, and that you could get directions and actually survive over there. So I guess Scotland is similar in approach to the US, our Oral exams were continuous and were on a variety of topics, all set by the SQA. I think in the world we live in today English is a vital language that is needed to succeed. French and English are the international languages of Business after all.
May 12, 201114 yr tbh Alex Sparrow is hotter :kink: and so are the group 'A friend in London' In the programme book I ordered there is a picture of them with open shirts  http://en.nkfu.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/a-friend-in-london-5.jpg Not bad, not bad. Alex Sparrow is undeniably a looker but not any competition for THE SAADE. And his song is very poor in comparison too. I quite liked Scott Mills too - even Sara Cox despite her being as wonderfully random as ever. I LOVED Scott Mills' commentary. Sara Cox was hilarious too, with her generally not giving a $h!t about anything attitude. This I have a major crush  Yay
May 12, 201114 yr Even lousy Russia did qualify, he doesn't have to worry. Especially if the performance is as good as in Melodifestivalen. Haven't seen the rehearsals. lousy Russia was in a weaker semi with vocally challenged singers... Russia actually was one of the best in 1st semi. and it's not praise to their song/performance, more like a kick towards the rest of the entires in that semi.
May 12, 201114 yr Apparently Christer has told Eric to walk off stage if the glass doesn't break right tonight. If it doesn't it's the German's fault and he would be well within his rights to ask for another chance, but I can't help but think people would look at him as if he was being a twat.
May 12, 201114 yr why is it German's fault? is it german glass he is using? he didn't bring his own? i seriously don't know, that's why i'm asking... but then shouldn't you always come prepared? http://images.teamsugar.com/files/users/1/12981/45_2007/condom_0.jpg
May 12, 201114 yr The German technicians are responsible for the glass breaking and have yet to get it right once, it had no problems during MF at all.
May 12, 201114 yr The German technicians are responsible for the glass breaking and have yet to get it right once, it had no problems during MF at all. why isn't Eric the one breaking it? is there a detonation devise that is malfunctioning or some German pyromaniac can't hit the button on time?
May 12, 201114 yr Eric obviously isn't breaking it because he could get injured. wear some gloves! and protecting gear... http://www.pk-imk.ru/pictures/catalog/svarshik_2.jpg
May 12, 201114 yr Personally I'd laugh my head off if the glass didn't break and he just kinda.. stood there!
May 12, 201114 yr I remember Lordi had to bring their own pyrotechnique to Athens because the organisation couldn't provide them. Why the Swedes couldn't have their own men or women to break the glass?
May 12, 201114 yr Presumably the German's said they would do it for them, they do everyone else's technical stuff too. It isn't just that though, the sound mixing was awful on Tuesday, half the commentators were cut off, I really would have expected near seemless hosting from Germany and it's been a right mess.
