Horrified that we gave 8 points to Moldova. Nothing to Austria. (Wasn't expecting us to give anything to Serbia or Georgia)

We can't really complain about Jedward if we're willing to give Moldova our 8.....

I like Azerbaijan's song so I'm OK with it winning, wouldn't have been my first choice. For a while I thought Ukraine or Bosnia would win.

I 100% believe had Eric performed in one of the last 5 spots, he would have won easily :(

I'm so anticipating the split results - I'm thinking Eric probably won on televotes, but didn't do too well on juries, while Italy won on juries but didn't do as well in the televote. Azerbaijan probably did well in both televotes and jury - which is the best thing to do!

I thought Ukraine or Greece was going to win at one point. If one of them had one I probably would have actually considered laughing like a mad man at the results and doing a Woody Woodpecker style crazy dance.

Now that I've gotten over the results...

I'm surprised at how badly most of the favourites did.. Azerbaijan were probably the only favourite that did well

3rd is pretty awesome no?

No doubt about it.

Bloody Ukraine.

Not sure exactly where on earth Italy came from....obviously must have won the jury vote cause I can't see the public taking to it that strongly...

That confirms what I thought I saw. The UK gave nothing to Greece :cheer: Thank god for that! Our votes were;

12. Ireland (hardly a surprise)

10. Switzerland (genuinely don't get this - she came last!)

8. Moldova (again, we vote for the jokes every year)

7. Italy (good god)

6. Lithuania (diasporatastic, we always give them good points when they get to the final)

5. Denmark (yep, sounds like a UK sort of song)

4. Iceland (the story got the votes)

3. Sweden (a bit of common sense creeps in)

2. Austria (and a bit more...)

1. Spain (ok...)

Nothing for Azerbaijan, France or Germany from us...

The UK got points from 25/42 countries, a vast improvement on the 2 or 3 last year and Blue shouldn't be too disheartened with this at all. I definitely think we can and will win it again one day, just looking for that Fairytale or Satellite...I swear if we go back to sending $hite again next year...

I'm not surprised! ^_^

Yep, but I can't help but think he would have won with a better slot :(

I wasn't even expecting Top 5 for him.. so I guess I should he happy

Eric's artist profile says he wants to break his favourite country, the UK :funky:

CAN'T WAIT.

Popular.. UK Top 40 hit next week please

and I shall do Portugal:

12pts Spain (daaaah! Juries cut the diaspora a bit, so now Spain are back to being our favs. Good song too)

10pts Italy (what the hell. We like italian music, but this was crap)

8pts Azerbaijan (shocking, cant remember if we ever voted for them before)

7pts Ukraine (disapora crap, prob 10 or 12 in televote)

6pts Ireland (kinda surprising, but people seemed to like it)

5pts Moldova (diaspora)

4pts Iceland (we loved Yohanna, dunno why we liked this though...)

3pts UK (Blue were big here, I actually expected more. Juries probably screwed them over)

2pts France (dunno what happened here, expected a lot more)

1pts Slovenia (no clue)

no Romania in our votes this year, the song was kinda mediocre. We usually give them high marks

Saade into the UK iTunes top 100, Scandipop marks its triumphant return! Doesn't look like Blue will get that top ten hit here after all, shame...

Looking at flights from the UK to Azerbaijan, they go from 'selected London airports' and cost a bomb (£383 cheapest return). Definitely ruling that out, at least I don't have to feel down when I can't afford a ticket/hotels. I never realised it was THAT far away, and I really don't fancy visiting that part of the world...

Good luck to the bloggers/accredited people for next year, they're going to need a LOT of money and patience for that one...

Its kinda weird cos I'd love to visit Jordan and Syria, yet know nothing about Azerbaijan which isn't that far away from those countries.

Yep, but I can't help but think he would have won with a better slot :(

That would be so amazing

AT LAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About time Scandipop got a little recognition over here. Such a glorious sub-genre of pop.

Just realized that Azerbaijan is 4 hours ahead of Portugal, which means Eurovision will start here at 5pm :o Same in UK actually

I'm sure it was still 9pm CET when Russia hosted on +3 was it not???

Although I was +10 at the time so it was like 5am for me
