Posted May 14, 201114 yr Following months and months of speculation, our Contributing Editor Dannii Minogue has confirmed that she will NOT be returning to our screens as an X Factor judge later this year: "I am so disappointed that I can't be a part of The X Factor this year. I'm going to miss the show and the amazing team who work so incredibly hard on it." Danni began filming the fifth series of Australia's Got Talent in January and returns to her homeland in a couple of weeks to continue with the semi and grand finals. "During discussions for me to return [to The X Factor]it became clear that unfortunately, this year, the X Factor audition dates in the UK clash with the live shows of Australia's Got Talent during June and July. For this reason I am unable to return. I want to wish the new judges every success for this year's show, and can't wait to see who the British public choose as their next big star. Thanks to everyone who has shown me so much love and support, and brought me so much joy during my four incredible years working on the show." With no Dannii and the departure of Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole to the US, there is now even more speculation over who will be occupying the judging chairs for series eight of The X Factor here in the UK. The only judge to be confirmed so far is Gary Barlow. Dannii, who joined The X Factor in 2007, has been a winning mentor twice: once with Leon Jackson and again only a few months ago with the gorgeous Matt Cardle. "'Team Minogue' will continue to fly a flag later this year when the amazingly talented, and last year's winner, Matt Cardle releases his debut album." I'm sure you're all as upset as we are that the much-loved Dannii, who over the last twelve months has been named 'Most Popular Judge', 'Celeb of The Year' and 'TV Personality of the Year', is not returning to her judging seat. Not only did she become the only judge we could trust and count on, she also became a style queen. Let's take a look back at Dannii's amazing looks from the last few series. Dannii will be missed, but we know our Contributing Editor has plenty more up her sleeve for the rest of this year! http://www.mydaily.co.uk/2011/05/14/exclus...s-the-x-factor/ Gutted :( She was the main draw for me, it won't be the same without her.
May 15, 201114 yr Very disapointed with this news as she is/was my favourite judge and the only one who gave honest constructive critiscisms,
May 15, 201114 yr I feel the same guys....really gutted!! She was by far the best, oh and how come Australias Got Talent hasnt clashed before? This stinks of her being forced out....
May 15, 201114 yr I feel the same guys....really gutted!! She was by far the best, oh and how come Australias Got Talent hasnt clashed before? This stinks of her being forced out.... I think its because X-Factor is starting earlier this year.
May 15, 201114 yr Author I think its all to do with Gary needing to finish the Take That tour so the auditions are being moved around :(
May 15, 201114 yr X factor without dannii will be so strange i think, i wonder has dannii any other career plans now as with no x factor it will free up alot of her time, something she does something big again soon in the uk.
May 15, 201114 yr Author She has Austra's Got Talent, her clothing line, rumoured music return and a baby :P
May 16, 201114 yr Dannii will soon be forgotten and dropped from M and S. She was only picked because of the X Factor exposure. She has had 4 years of mainstream success out of it. Of course she has been forced out, they are going for a new look panel.
May 16, 201114 yr Author I hardly think she will be forgotten. If they are going for a new look then Louis would be out too.
May 17, 201114 yr Her dates for AGT have clashed before and they just had 3 judges for some of the auditions for at least 2 of her 4 years there so why they couldn't just have 3 judges on the date she could not make is beyond me. They have offed her. I'm sick. I for one am not watching. STUFF Xfactor.
May 17, 201114 yr I think she did quit to be honest id say she quit as she feared the show may not be as succesful with cheryl and simpn going so she jumped ship, well least that is what im hoping as i really dont believe she was axed.
May 23, 201114 yr I think she was axed. It's been stated that if they wanted to keep Dannii they would have worked her other commitments around the auditions. Oh well. The ratings will PLUMMET. FACT. They may start off good but they will drop quicker than Britneys knickers when she climbs out of her car.
May 23, 201114 yr Author I don't think she was. ITV are apparantly wanting her back, due to both Sky and BBC wanting her for shows. But she has a young child to think about, flying constantly back and forth between here and Aus isn't really an option for her.
June 1, 201114 yr I think it was probably a mutual thing. Dannii has a lot going on right now as it is, and X Factor is full of drama right now, I'd want to stay clear for a year. I'm sure she will find something else for the time being. It will be weird without her. Especially with an American as a judge now!
June 2, 201114 yr Its a simple fact of timing. She is on Australias got talent the same time as X Factor starts. Simple as that.
