July 21, 201113 yr I am less than impressed. She is KILLING us This comes to mind: You're only gonna let me down...
July 22, 201113 yr She REALLY needs to leave her label. They have ZERO faith in her. Like, wut? She's one of the most successful AI artists and their killing her.
August 1, 201113 yr Kelly has started a side project with her two backing singers called Already Famous. Also I believe in total 81 demos have leaked.
August 2, 201113 yr ^Yep. She's also been working with Aben who she also tours with. He worked with Kelly on many of the songs from MD.
August 2, 201113 yr What a mess. Realistically is she really ever going to have much success (if any) ever again?!
August 2, 201113 yr RCA really need to get their shit together. They would rather Kelly make records similar to Breakaway and try to resurrect that success again which will probably never happen. I used to dread the fact that she only has two albums left under her contract but now I can't think of anything I would want to happen sooner.
August 2, 201113 yr What a mess. Realistically is she really ever going to have much success (if any) ever again?! Seems an odd question to ask? I don't understand where you're coming from. Her last US single was a huge success and dominated radio despite the fact that what came before it had been kind of a flop. Not many artists suffer a flop single and then have another huge hit from the same record. There's obviously lots of goodwill towards her. The album was certified Platinum in the US. In the UK and Europe it might be tougher to get things back on track given that only one album out of four has been a genuine hit here but when you have ridiculous talent like Kelly I believe you're always in with a chance. Also the leaks from the new album are absolutely superb and several of them would make strong singles so yes, she'll have success again most likely before the year is out.

I just don't see where she'll logistically go as a mainstream/"billboard conquering"/top 40 artist now. Given the current musical climate also and the fact RCA seem to be making a total mess of her career both last era and currently. I know they are relatively different but Avril Lavigne has totally struggled with her latest release. I just don't see where she'll necessarily fit. Though I'm always open to being proved wrong and do wish her success. She goes against the cookie-cutter vapid sort of pop star that seems to dominate the US a lot now...

Is she really that different from Pink? I could see her equalling 'Raise Your Glass/'Perfect' in terms of success.
August 2, 201113 yr 'Raise Your Glass' and 'Perfect' are probably Pink's most boring songs, I have no idea why they were so huge.
August 2, 201113 yr Is she really that different from Pink? I could see her equalling 'Raise Your Glass/'Perfect' in terms of success. It all depends on catchy hooks and choruses no? That is a significant part of why P!nk does so well at radio and iTunes. Kelly has always made a point of not being bothered about anthemic choruses etc. I just don't think she wants to be Avril, P!nk etc but it's a fight between her and RCA to find some sort of "balance". I DO NOT KNOW, WE SHALL SEE
August 2, 201113 yr As ever America is totally BACKWARD about these things! But as long as P!nk is being recognised over there I'm happy. After Try This she could so easily have been over so to see her make a comeback and grow in popularity with each album to the point where she's selling double platinum is fab. I do love a good underdog.
August 2, 201113 yr Raise Your Glass is one of Pink's worst singles, never got the appeal. I hope Kelly doesn't do anything like it, I'd like her to progress on to something similar in sound to What Doesn't Kill You.

Not many artists suffer a flop single and then have another huge hit from the same record. There's obviously lots of goodwill towards her. The album was certified Platinum in the US. I'm being overly pedantic here but All I Ever Wanted was never certified Platinum in the US (although it probably shipped enough, seeing as though it sold ~900k). And her last US single was the title track from the album and that tanked. Already Gone could have done *so* much better, it's a shame Halo came out first.
August 2, 201113 yr Yeah I meant Already Gone rather than All I Ever Wanted. And I know it did ship a million copies and that's Platinum in my mind! They should've certified it though.
August 11, 201113 yr After months of torturous teasing, tantalizing, and false starts, the new Kelly Clarkson single is almost here! Kelegend’s new tune is reportedly titled “Mr. Know It All”, and will officially drop on August 30. Several people have heard the song so far, including a top American radio station and Australian music retailer Sanity, and here’s what they’ve had to say on it so far: “The track is called “Mr. Know It All” and it is AMAZING!” wrote 104Myfm on their official website. “Kelly still has the huge powerful voice, but does some new things with it and incorporates some great drum beats and tempo. In my opinion the background has a “Just the Way You Are” sound and I instantly compared the vocal to Pink, with how raspy Kelly tries to go with it.” “Listening to the BRAND NEW Kelly Clarkson track right now….and its good,” they tweeted later. “[it's]medium tempo. Super different from her normal stuff but REALLY good!” Meanwhile Australia’s Sanity described it as “bloody phenomenal”, and calling it more pop than pop-rock. Is she pulling a Bruno Mars on us? When you think about it, that’s the absolute perfect direction for Kelly to go in. Pop-rock is a non-factor on the charts right now, and doing a full-blown dance song could come across as contrived and fake, so Bruno’s brand of midtempo radio-pop seems like the right fit for Kelly. It sounds like we’re definitely going to see a new side to Kelly, but with that same powerful voice that we all love. http://www.theprophetblog.net/kelly-clarks...-due-this-month So I think this deserves a :w00t:
August 11, 201113 yr Loving the sound of it! :D And I love Bruno Mars so if it sounds like him like good!
